View Full Version : Question about these upcoming eclipses

Faery-Wings
June 6th, 2002, 01:32 PM
I have been reading up on the solar eclipse, June 10 and Lunar on the 24th. I am a Cancer, b-day is June 26. I read that these two eclipses are going to be pretty life changing for me. It says on Astrology Zone, that "As mentioned earlier, the new moon solar eclipse on June 10 will reveal a long-withheld secret " Can this be revealed *before* the eclipse? Just very recently I did find out a long kept secret. And unfortunately, I don't think I am capable of finding out another!

This month sounds like it is going to be pretty difficult for me, astrologically speaking. I am hoping that the worst of it is over, because if there is more to come, I am in big trouble. But I am trying to be optimistic.

So do you think that what has happened in the last week could be influenced by this upcoming eclipse, or do I need to brace myself for more to come?

Chris

I will be in my storm shelter too, :(

Litha posted a great thread on the eclipses I will bump them up

Great. My life is already so awful it can't get worse, and according to the above horoscope, my birthdate is especially affected by the 10th eclipse.

Just what I needed, more horror to come. I will be hiding for awhile.

Xander67
June 6th, 2002, 07:01 PM
:) ok then

:o I hereby declare this thread as Sanctuary from the impending storms, we can discuss how the events in the sky are effecting our lives, sorta like a Cosmic Support group LOL

and scince we will be shareing how the Eclipses are affecting our lives we wont really be off topic ;)

Faery-Wings
June 6th, 2002, 07:04 PM
I hear ya. Can we make this a cyber-bomb shelter? Or should we just make a cyber space ship and travel to another galaxy where astrology doesn't work?

Xander67
June 6th, 2002, 07:15 PM
well we can make it a Bomb shelter I suppose, If we make a spce ship and travel to where astrology doesnt work, we would be "Off topic" but we can make a space ship and travel through the universe and visit the other planets where we will be safe from the storm :)

hmmm a tour through the zodiac, what an adventure??

we can visit each planet and learn about its place in the zodiac!

:boing:

:o OK all aboard, we lift off in a while, I have gotten the flight plans approved by staff, and as long as we keep it to astrology and discuss the effects of the eclipses and all, we have safe travel..

:) I think in light of recent events (Mercury RX) it may not be safe to start there, so mabey we shall set course for PLUTO first and work our way back??

Faery-Wings
June 7th, 2002, 07:10 AM
Good idea! I agree, Pluto first. My kids and I say we love each other from Pluto and back (from the book Guess How Much I Love You, ...to the moon and back) so that is a good omen and I am all for looking at good omens.

I'll start looking up info on Pluto and post back.

Azure

Isn't there some serious debate about whether Pluto is a real planet? There are some scientists who think it may just be a ball of ice out there.

Of course, given the name, it leads to the pun about hell being frozen over.

Xander67
June 7th, 2002, 11:05 AM
well, that made le laugh LOL

According to Caroline Casey's book (which no home should be without :D ) Makeing the Gods work for you,

Pluto is the ruler of the Underworld. When Pluto travels in ones chart, BRACE yourself lol... PLuto causes change, .. it causes us to go deep within our selves... she uses the phraze, "when you feel like you are falling, enjoy it! you will only wind up back on top when it is over" scarey, but true!

Xander67
June 7th, 2002, 12:58 PM
:)

Alrighty then,

we are ready to lift off...
first we will need to check and make sure we all have our supplies...

ok then, Away we go, Chryssi1, set course for the planet pluto,
(you can navigate scince it is your omen)

if you all look out the Port side window you can see our Mother earth as we leave its orbit :)

I have to admit I want to rad more from Susan Miller. Depressing as all get out, but accurate.

hey, nice picture of Pluto. It looks so warm, reflecting all the sunlight, but we know that's an illusion. I hope everyone packed their ice gear. . .

Wonder what a Plutonian sno-cone tastes like?

Heh, why do I feel like I just pulled the Death Card? Did I say Pluto would be a good omen? You might want someone else to take over navigation.... :D

Azure, I had heard about Pluto not really being a planet also. I just don't remember where or when. But ROTF about the hell freezes over comment!

OK crew and passengers, look out the starboard window to see Pluto. According to Joanna Woolfolk in The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need , Pluto is a doozy of a planet. Pluto "signifies death and rebirth. It is the planet of regenerative forces, of destruction and annihilation, then complete transformation.....Pluto wipes the late clean." p. 223

She also says that Pluto has some pretty hefty powers for both good and bad, as well as being very mysterious.

On http://www.astrology.com/pluto.html:

Pluto is also rcognized as being a powerful planet with some very strong results. A tough planet with little sympathy for those under its influence. Pluto is alos closely ties with the subconscious and things that are hidden.

All the other information I have read online about the astological aspects of Pluto agree- very powerful, life changing and regenerative.

Astronomy info- Pluto is the only planet not visited by any type of spacecraft, it's orbit is elliptical rather than circular, making it closer to Earth at times than Neptune and travels in the opposite direction than the other planets. Its temperature is between -about -235 and -210 C (don't ask me to convert to F*- at any rate is is f%*&% COLD!!!!)

hey!!! I have some more info on pluto, but look over there, You can see a good view of Jupiter, and its moons,

here is a nice shot from the Hubble of one of Jupiter's moon's
Europa

*~*Chary*~*
June 7th, 2002, 09:13 PM
aha something i know about

Europa's icy crust holds the tanatlizing possibility that oceans may exist beneath its sparsely cratered surface. Surface close-ups of the smallest of the four Galilean moons reveal an eerie mix of ridges and crustal plates that seem to have a history of breaking apart and rafting together, possibly indicating subsurface water or slush. Darker blues indicate relatively old ice;
reddish regions may contain material from ore recent geological activity. If large reservoirs of water do exist here, might not living organisms as well ?

Xander67

((((Chary))))) It's nice to have you on board for this adventure!

we will most deffinately be takeing another look at Europa and some of Jupiter's other moons ...

we are just about in PLuto's orbit...

Chary, would you do the Honnors and Launch the Robotic Hover craft so we can get a closer peek at the surface of Pluto??

Here is some more data on Pluto,

from "Parker's Astology" by:Julia and Derek Parker

Percival Lowell assumed that Pluto existed
on the bases of matmatical calculations. Between 3,200 and 4,800 Kilometers (2,000 and 3,000 miles)

it was first seen by a Clyde Tombaugh in 1930.

Pluto's orbit is 17 degrees inclined to be ecliptic, and is 5,800 million Kilometers (3,600 million miles) from the sun. It Takes Pluto 248 Earth years to complete one circle around the sun.
Its eccentric orbit brings it within Neptune's Orbit but a collision is thought to be unlikely. Pluto has one moon, as we see in the other photo. Charon and it was discovered in 1978.

:o In the Early days of Astrology, the planet Mars was the ruleing planet of Scorpio; however, with the discovery of PLuto, Astrologers felt that rulership of Scorpio should go to Pluto!

Okay, folks, here's your link to the National Geographic story on Pluto - Planet, Comet, or What?

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2001/02/0216_Pluto.html

Yup, Pluto is really making some massive changes - for me, it's been nothing but death and sickness for several months now - really starting all the way back in Feb. I'm hoping that the rebirth part is a little better, but I'm holding my breath until June's eclipses are over, too.

It is currently 7:06 EDT and we are pulling closer to Neptune. The weather is pretty windy and ummm, dark. I sure hope that freighter gets to Xander soon.

Neptune is a bit nicer than Pluto. Neptune is in charge of dreams, fantasy and imagination. It is also associated with mystery and spirituality.

Neptune is also the name of the Roman God of the sea and waters of the Earth- the water being representative of subconscious thoughts and emotions.

In The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need ,

In astrology Neptune is the planet of idealism and spirituality. Its realm is the subconscious world, hidden memory, intuition, and clairvoyance.

Some of its traits are mysticism, artistic creativity, dreams. Negatively they are "deception, confusion, fraud, treachery and sham." p. 217

From http://www.astrologyzone.com/tools/neptune.html:

Neptune is, after all, The Mist, and makes us want to escape mundane, everyday reality into a more ideal, heavenly state. It urges us to excel and to exceed boundaries, rejecting any and all limitations. But since the Mist alters reality, there are times that Neptune clouds issues and makes it hard to decipher facts. Neptune can make us deceive ourselves (or be deceived by others), or just make us misunderstand or be misunderstood. It rules all that is glamorous and sparkling, but bear in mind that Neptune's visions are not very real.

When we are dealing with Neptune, we need to make sure that we take a step back and not get lost within those mists.

Astronomy info~
Neptune is the 4th largest planet and is made up mostly of ice and rock. Its wind speed is at about 2000 kph. It also has rings and 8 moons. in1989, Neptune was visited by Voyager 2 which has given us most of our information about this planet.

Just a reminder that today Monday, June 10th is a solar eclipse! Whatever you are doing this day, you will have the tendencies to do for the next six months.

Be with friends and family you want to be with.
If you can't be with them, phone, email or write them -- there just needs to be contact in some way.
Avoid those you don't want to be with so you will have little or no contact with them during the next six months.
Put $ in the bank if it's important for you to save for the next six months.
Go to work - or your job will be affected in some way.
Participate in your sport(s), crafts or interest on that day.
Be optimistic.
Be productive.
Set goals and objectives for the next six months.
Start new things on that day -- perhaps like looking for a job, sending out resumes, starting a new home or business project...
Go out to lunch/dinner with a romantic significant other so you will have time to do more of that in the next six months.
Find some time to rest to relieve some of the stress that you may be feeling.
Buy a little something for yourself so that you will have more $$ than just for paying bills :)

ok crew man your stations we have

Incomming message from Xander.

Hello Crew,
I hope you are all doing well, just to update you...
I have contacted the freighter ship and they should reach me within 24
hours. I have 48 hours of air left so I will be fine!

Floating alone out here in deep space, millions of miles from home..
is truly one of the most terrifying yet at the same time, spiritually
exhilarating expieriences one can encounter.

as I gaze out at Neptune, I can not help but be reminded of what Caroline Casey
says in her book, "makeing the gods work for you" I will share some of it with
you.

Anomie is a word that sounds like it means "AH, no me"
or loss of self. We need to feed our neptune apsects
if we experience any of the following:
Loss of self of sense of purpose
feelings of being awash or messed with
feels of disorientation , no motivation, or lack of focus.

When we can not focus, Neptune asks "What are we meant to focus on? What is
tying to get your attention? Honnor your feelings of disorientation by diving
into them more fully rather than surpressing them with either drugs, irrelavant
attempts of normalcy or Perkiness"

Our challenge is to stake out time for dreaming, poetry, music and gazeing off
into the distance. In return, Neptune will grant crisp focus when needed.

Well I should be meeting up with you when you are on your way to jupiter

by the way Azure,

you were right about Jupiter and Sagitarius :)

The plant Jupiter is traditional Honnored on thursday!
or "Thor's day" according to the Norse.

you all are going to be sick of me quoteing Caroline casey but her book is POWERFUL and very Healing!

According to Caroline casey
Jupiter says that Abundance invokes Abundance.
Gratitude to life invokes Gratitude.

Native American Culture has a very Jupiterian orientation towards the concepts of gifts and giving. They are very aware that everything is alive and wants to travel. In many traditions Thursdays , sacred to Jupiter, are days of offering kinships and rituals. Thanksgiving for example is always celebrated on a thursday and in the Native american tradition, turkey medicine is associated with generosity. © Caroline Casey Makeing the gods work for you.

I will be bringing back some photos I took when I arrive, and I am also Honnored to be accompanied by Dr Kahlan, Dr K has agreed to sign on as Chief Medical Officer for this mission and I am very proud to have her aboard.

Ok my friends lets take some readings and move on to Uranus if thats ok with everyone ... let me say that this is a democratic ship hee hee but before we go lets get some info

Neptune is the eighth planet and is similar in size and compostition to Uranus. It also has a very long journey around the Sun. Since its discovery in 1846, it has not yet completed one full revolution around the Sun. Through a large telescope, Neptune appears bluish in color and has 2 large moons. Neptune is so distant from us that its surface features are very difficult to see. A few markings have been seen and are believed to be multicolored cloud bands.

Neptune also has several storm systems similar in appearance to those on Jupiter. The largest storm located near the planet's equator, is known simply as the Great Dark Spot and is about the size of Earth. This storm has many of the same characteristics as the storm on Jupiter, known as the Great Red Spot.

Neptune's largest pink moon, Triton is an oddity among the moons of our solar system in that it is highly tilted to the plane of Neptune's equator. It also orbits Neptune in the opposite direction than the other moons leading scientists to believe that Triton formed independently and was captured by Neptune's gravity.

In Roman mythology Neptune (Greek: Poseidon) was the god of the Sea.

After the discovery of Uranus, it was noticed that its orbit was not as it should be in accordance with Newton's laws. It was therefore predicted that another more distant planet must be perturbing Uranus' orbit. Neptune was first observed by Galle and d'Arrest on 1846 Sept 23 very near to the locations independently predicted by Adams and Le Verrier from calculations based on the observed positions of Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus. An international dispute arose between the English and French (though not, apparently between Adams and Le Verrier personally) over priority and the right to name the new planet; they are now jointly credited with Neptune's discovery. Subsequent observations have shown that the orbits calculated by Adams and Le Verrier diverge from Neptune's actual orbit fairly quickly. Had the search for the planet taken place a few years earlier or later it would not have been found anywhere near the predicted location.

More than two centuries earlier, in 1613, Galileo observed Neptune when it happened to be very near Jupiter, but he thought it was just a star. On two successive nights he actually noticed that it moved slightly with respect to another nearby star. But on the subsequent nights it was out of his field of view. Had he seen it on the previous few nights Neptune's motion would have been obvious to him. But, alas, cloudy skies prevented obsevations on those few critical days.

Neptune has been visited by only one spacecraft, Voyager 2 on Aug 25 1989. Much of we know about Neptune comes from this single encounter. But fortunately, recent ground-based and HST observations have added a great deal, too.

Because Pluto's orbit is so eccentric, it sometimes crosses the orbit of Neptune making Neptune the most distant planet from the Sun for a few years.

Neptune's composition is probably similar to Uranus': various "ices" and rock with about 15% hydrogen and a little helium. Like Uranus, but unlike Jupiter and Saturn, it may not have a distinct internal layering but rather to be more or less uniform in composition. But there is most likely a small core (about the mass of the Earth) of rocky material. Its atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium with a small amount of methane.

Neptune's blue color is largely the result of absorption of red light by methane in the atmosphere but there is some additional as-yet-unidentified chromophore which gives the clouds their rich blue tint.

Like a typical gas planet, Neptune has rapid winds confined to bands of latitude and large storms or vortices. Neptune's winds are the fastest in the solar system, reaching 2000 km/hour.

Like Jupiter and Saturn, Neptune has an internal heat source -- it radiates more than twice as much energy as it receives from the Sun.

At the time of the Voyager encounter, Neptune's most prominent feature was the Great Dark Spot (left) in the southern hemisphere. It was about half the size as Jupiter's Great Red Spot (about the same diameter as Earth). Neptune's winds blew the Great Dark Spot westward at 300 meters/second (700 mph). Voyager 2 also saw a smaller dark spot in the southern hemisphere and a small irregular white cloud that zips around Neptune every 16 hours or so now known as "The Scooter" (right). It may be a plume rising from lower in the atmosphere but its true nature remains a mystery.

I got the coordinates set backwards and we ended back over to Pluto.

But here we are pulling up towards Uranus (no silly jokes there boys!)

Uranus is the planet of change. When things get shaken up quickly, it is ususally due to the influence of the planet. Uranus also deals with inner power, and "deep seated energy within the personality." It controls invention, innovation, things of the future, especially those that are "outside the box." People who are ruled strongly by Uranus tend to artistic, creative, even eccentric.

"Uranus brings cahnge into our lives, new situations and new people. Its gifts are sudden and ephemeral....The message of Uranus is to move with change and not be afraid of the future."

Taken from The Only Astrology Book You Will Ever Need pp. 211-212.

*~*Chary*~*
June 21st, 2002, 10:01 AM
These two pictures of Uranus - one in true color (left) and the
other in false color - were compiled from images returned on
January 17, 1986, by the narrow-angle camera of Voyager 2. The
spacecraft was 9.1 million kilometers (5.7 million miles) from
the planet, seven days before its closest approach.

The picture on the left has been processed to show Uranus as human
eyes would see it from the vantage point of the spacecraft. The
picture is a composite of images taken through blue, green, and
orange filters. The blue-green color results from the absorption
of red light by methane gas in Uranus' deep, cold, and remarkably
clear atmosphere. The darker shadings at the upper right of the
disk correspond to the day-night boundary on the planet. Beyond
this boundary lies the hidden northern hemisphere of Uranus that
remains in total darkness as the planet rotates.

The picture on the right uses false colors and contrast enhancement
to bring out subtle details in the polar region of Uranus. Images
obtained through ultraviolet, violet, and orange filters were
respectively converted to blue, green, and red colors to produce
the picture. The very slight contrasts visible in true color thus
are greatly exaggerated here. In this false-color picture, Uranus
reveals a dark polar hood surrounded by a series of progressively
lighter concentric bands. One possible explanation is that a
brownish haze or smog, concentrated over the pole, is arranged
into bands by zonal motions of the upper atmosphere.

Several artifacts of the optics and processing are visible. The
occasional doughnut shapes are shadows cast by dust in the camera's
optics; the processing necessary to bring out the faint features
also brings out these camera blemishes. In addition, the bright
pink strip at the lower edge of the planet's limb is an artifact of
the image enhancement. In fact, the limb is dark and uniform in color.

The Voyager project is managed for NASA by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
