What deck(s) are you using right now, for this class? Why did you choose the deck(s) that you are using? Do you like your deck? What do you like about your deck? Is there anything you dislike about your deck?
I've recently been on a deck-giving-away spree, and actually ended up giving away all of my reading decks! I had to buy a new reading deck the other day, as most of the decks I had left are art decks, and while they're pretty, they can be pretty freaky too!
So, I bought the Mystic Faerie Tarot the other day, and I'm SOOOOO glad that I did! It's a gorgeous, and very easy to read, deck that I connect to because my path is intimately connected to the Fae. I love just about everything about this deck, especially the Minor Arcana. In many other decks, the figures shown in the Minors bear little, if any, resemblance or relation to one another. In this deck, the Minors tell a progressive story, and so we see the same figures in various phases of the story. I LOVE that!
The only thing that I don't really like about this deck is the card stock. It's okay, but it's not the greatest, and I can see myself having to buy it again in the future as the cards start to wear out.

I am using "The Gilded Tarot" deck. I bought it on a whim a few years ago. I didn't really shop around, or take a good look at any of the decks that the store had. I just picked the one that caught my eye first. I have mixed feelings about the deck. I don't really like computer generated art that looks like it was done on the computer (if that makes sense). There are some cards I like, and some that I don't. However I find the scenes and poses on a lot of the cards are well crafted; they tell a story.

I know exactly what you mean about the computer generated art! I was actually discussing that with my husband at Borders today. There are several decks out that are computer generated, and I'd been looking at getting the Tarot of Elves.
But before spending that much money, I downloaded it for my Orphalese software, and after looking through the cards, and using it in spreads a few times, I'm SO glad I didn't spend the money on it!
I actually just gave the Gilded away! I liked it, had no problems reading with it, but it decided it liked someone else more!

I plan on using the Sacred Circle Tarot (http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/sacred-circle/) deck for this class. I was given the Rider Waite tarot deck by a friend of mine years ago, but found that I wanted to choose another deck for myself to better represent my personality. So I went to the local Borders and after about an hour and a half I picked out the Sacred Circle Tarot. I love my deck and honestly there's nothing I dislike about it. :)

For the most part, I'll be using the Robin Wood deck. I liked that one because of the similarity to the RWS deck (which was my first deck, as it was for most people), but it had more fullbodied artwork that, to me, was beautiful. I have a very particular reaction to brightly colored things, and the Robin Wood deck is very vibrant. So the artwork plus the similarity to symbols I already knew was what prompted me to find a copy. It's my favorite deck, to say the least.
I also find it very...friendly. Sometimes decks will have cards that make me...nervous. It could be nothing more than an expression on a character's face. But the Robin Wood deck doesn't have any cards that inherently do that. I mean...besides the obvious ones that might affect you that way anyhow. Nine of swords and such. LOL...
I might be switching up decks occassionally, just because I'm trying to get more accustomed to my other decks as well. I have a copy of the Animals Divine which I want to learn to use (the imagery is much different, so it might be just the thing to try for intuitive tarot), and I also ordered a copy of the Victorian Romantic tarot which I want to try for class...assuming I get it anytime soon. The shipping company is being rather slow lately.

I'll be using the Old English Deck because I like it, despite being at times difficult to read. However, I may be compelled at times to switch to the DruidCraft, as it's a kind of security blanket deck for me.

Security blankets are good, sometimes :) Hopefully, you'll learn to read just about ANY deck in this class :)

I only have two decks, the Cat People and Egyptian Tarot. I suspect I'll use them both although I am more familiar with the Cat People. the pictures are so descriptive and vivid and I find the cats (on the cards) give more of an idication to the meaning of the card - when I can trust them!

Well, for the pre-test I"m using the Ancient Egyptian Tarot.
1. I have not worked with it extensively before.
2. It is similar to RWS without being a complete clone, so I am sure to find new information in the cards based on the imagery, and that helps me step away from my prior knowledge of the cards and be more intuitive.

Okay, after looking through all my new decks, I've decided to go with the Llewellyn Tarot. It's just too beautiful and I need to get to know it better. :) It's RWS based, but with a Welsh mythology twist. :)

I have several decks, including the Golden Tarot, Guilded Tarot, and a few others that I liked the pictures on. The deck I USE is the Robin Wood deck.

I'm using the Archeon tarot. I love the artwork on it. I've done readings with it before, and I don't have anything to compare it to, but it's pretty no-nonsense. It seems kind of dark when you compare it to other decks, but I haven't noticed it giving gloom-filled readings or anything. I like it because it's like life - scary and beautiful and with moments of darkness and light. (Okay, I think I'm waxing a little overly poetic about this.) Um, and it gets an attitude when you ask it the same question over and over. I don't know. I've heard people say that it's a hard deck to read, but I think I've connected with it.

The Archeon is a great deck. I like it very much too. I'm not too used to reading with it yet, but I can see where it would get an attitude. Seems to be that kind of "strong personality" deck.

I am going to use my Tarot of a Moon Garden deck. I love the imagery on the cards and they're very easy for me to read with. There really isn't much that I don't like about this deck! I love how the swords are dragonflies and there are unicorns and fairies and castles. It's very whimsical and I just love them!

I only have one Tarot Deck, so that's the one I'll be using. It's the Robin Wood Tarot Deck, and I think it's really pretty. I've never used or even seen any other type of deck before, so I don't know if this one works better for me than others would. I only got the deck yesterday, so I haven't looked through it extensively, but I know I will soon!

As of right now, I think I'll be using the Universal Goddess Tarot (http://www.tarotgarden.com/boutique/onlinecatalog.php?view_title=Universal+Goddess+Tarot&pageenter=0), mostly because I have it handy. It's been travelling around with me in my briefcase, not that I've had a chance to pull it out and study it at work, since it has been quite busy here lately.
It's one of the decks that hasn't made it into a moving box yet, which is what makes it a good choice ...
The imagery is an interesting mix of Rider Waite and Goddesses from many different pantheons, so the interpretations are based on both the goddess depicted as well as what's going on around her in the card art. I haven't used it extensively, so it has a lot to teach me.
I may switch around as I go along.

I'm going to be using Rider deck for the class. I'm very comfortable with them, and very familiar. I like that the symbolism keeps speaking new things to me all the time.

I'll probably primarily use my DruidCraft for this class ( I want to get a Druid Animal Oracle to go with it) - I like the imagery on the cards, as well as the larger size. I also just have a good connection with the deck, how it shuffles, and in general it reads very well for me. I'd be tempted to use one of my other decks, just to get into them a bit more, but in the end this is the most representational for me.

I'm using Tarot of the Mermaids and Tarot Art Nouveaou by Lo Scorabo. I ordered another tarot deck but I don't know if I'll use it here.
I like ARt Nouveau in that its not traditional for most cards except many of the major arcanas. Its a very emotional deck that seems to be about a person and who there are and what they go through. I like Mermaids because I love mermaids and the water. It is more traditionally based off the rider waite than the other deck.

Just got this deck for myself the other day. So far I like it, though doubt it will become one of my regular reading decks.

I'm gorna use my deck for Tarot of the Mermaids by Lo Scorabo. I've decided its time to give my other deck away when I find the right person and the right time.

Can we switch decks mid class? I just got my Toth..I had been curious about this deck so I bought it. If it gets too challenging for me I will switch back to Mystic Faerie.
