The Celts are coming to North Georgia! The First Annual North
Georgia
Celtic Festival will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 11 am until 8
pm, at
the Georgia Mountains Center in downtown Gainesville, GA, and outdoors
at
the adjoining Jefferson Square Park.

This festival will be a celebration of Irish, Scottish, Welsh and
British heritage, and will include live bands, dance troupes, vendors
of
Celtic arts and crafts, and a great variety of other entertainment,
including Medieval combat reenactment. Food and drink will be
available, and
the festival will be an all-day event and into the evening.

The festival is produced by Emerald Rose, the Georgia Celtic
folk
band who have been headline performers at Gainesville's First Night
Celebration for the past three years. Emerald Rose has been touring
extensively this year, and the band has performed at venues from New
York to
Florida. The event is sponsored by a donation from The Glassblowing
Shop of
Dahlonega.

US National Junior Scottish Fiddle Champion and three-time New
England
Champion fiddler Brendan Carey Block will be a featured performer.
Seventeen
year old Brendan is already well known throughout New England for his
fiery
Cape Breton-style fiddle performances, and has studied with some of the
masters of the Celtic tradition.

Other bands performing include Atlanta's The BorderCollies,
regional
groups such as Mulligans Brew, Keltic Kudzu, Banish Misfortune, and
performances by Celtic harpists Kelly Stewart and Tracie Brown.

Admission will be $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under,
and
tickets will be available at the gate. More information is available at
the
website: http://www.emeraldrose.com/ngfest

Hey, I got this email too! :D

I'm planning on going up there, a Celtic Festival and Emerald Rose to boot (last time I saw them live was last Thanksgiving)!

Maybe I'll see you there!
