So what do you do for the solstice? I've yet to celbrate one... we're all young and in college, summer jobs, etc, so it's a bit hard to do things together. Futhermore, I rarely notice what day it is, so I always forget to reasearch these things until the night before. (sigh). If you could lend suggestions or reading material (books or sites) I would be extremly greatful.

(While I'm here, I'm hawking my poem... go read it and tell me what you think!)

Thanks everyone.

Here is a link to a recent discussion about Litha: http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16841

Here's a pretty meaty link with some good info: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/5606/litha.html

As far as books, there is always "Midsummer: Magical Celebrations of the Summer Solstice" by Anna Franklin

Besides wishing FLAR a happy birthday, I'm not sure what I'll be doing....yet.

Thanks for the links, Mithrea

I'll be saying happy birthday to Flar and happy birthday to myself. And I'll also be celebrating a combined New Year's and Litha that day (along with getting ready for my trip). Busy days ahead. :D

*chuckles* I wish I'd realized I was pagan when I was young and in college....you think it's hard to find time to celebrate now? Try when you're working full time and can't really explain to the boss that you need the day off for a religious observance. :D

*ponders* I might call in sick that day though. And I'm definately doing something with my love since he's going to be here! :boing:

I'll sing a "Very very happy Unbirthday to me!!!!!"

Marshmallows, a campfire and a lake with a dock in the deep end.... *sigh*

My penance will probably be a sunburn....
