I think a UFO - but I really don't think it's still there. I'm guessing that it was moved to upper Northeast Alaska or something and they left area 51 as a "secret base" to keep people from finding out the truth. Ya, ya, I've seen to many X-Files.

A water balloon or some kind of secret government plane.
I highly doubt that it was a ufo.Because if use plane crashes somewhere
they send help.And if was a ufo did crash how come the aliens didn't send
any help?

I'm going to play devil's advocate and agree with Xentor, how do you know they didn't send help?.

Maybe when the aliens arrived, they infiltrated the U.S. government - that would explain a lot (look at Bush a bit more closely! ;)).

Personally, I'm not sure what crashed, although I think it's gone into the mythology of the U.S. and the myth is more interesting than the history.

I don't know what crashed in Roswell, but I know that it wasn't a weather balloon, that much I know. And I know whatever it was, the government doesn't want us to find out. Yeah, I've been to many conspiracy theory tv shows.

So the aliens have a secret alliance witht he government.I doubt that because I think if beings could travel thousands of lights they could would be able to keep

And I must those alien pilots are pretty damn good because they haven't another crash since the roswell.
I have seen 2 space shuffles blow up and a few planes crashes .Yet since back in 1947 when roswell incident it has been around 61 years and in that dispite all the ufo siting there hasn't been a crash that government has tried to cover up.Are the aliens really that damn good or what.

seriously if i were an alien from a distant planet i'd leave us the hell alone.
for starters if an alien were to land here and say " peace be with you earthlings. i have brought hope from another planet that will save your species." they would be shot on the spot. not a word of a lie .....shot dead. because peace dosent make money and money fuels the blasted global economy and we cant just upset that most delightful of human vices hitherto known as greed...

cause sure as crap there would be some rich sob somewhere who would just pee his pants as soon as our little green friend showed up talking about world peace and what not..... they would just drop the television remote and call in a defcon 9..

I've heard many interesting things about Phoenix and the various sightings. I'd love to be able to spend some time out there myself. Maybe once I finish college. Unless you know of any schools out there with the astrophysics major...then I'll just transfer, lol. What can I say, its the ufo junkie in me.

I read an interesting theory about this once. You know how the Air Force always said that they didn't know anything about it, it wasn't one of their secret planes, etc? And people conclude that either (leaving the frankly feeble weather balloon theory aside), they weren't being 100% truthful, and it was a secret plane, or that, if they genuinely didn't know anything about it, that means that it must have been an alien spacecraft? Well, this theory was that they honestly didn't know anything about it; but that that was because it was a Navy secret plane, and, given how secretive the Air Force and Navy always were with each other, they simply hadn't told the Air Force anything about it.

I read a magazine a few years ago that clamed that at the end off WW2 the US Gov. brought to America from Germany & Japan all of the secret projects these countries was working on when the war ended. It included German jets,buzz bombs & rockets. From Japan jets & a rocket plane. They also brought the technitions that was working on them. The craft that crashed at Rosewell was a Japanese jet long range spy plane bieng test flowen by Japanese tech. That is why there chard bodies looked Oriental. They was Japanese.
