Okay! We are going to start with suit meanings!
There is controversy about the relationship of wands and swords to the elements. some say that wands relates to fire and others say it's air.....same holds for swords. My deck, Robin Wood Tarot, shows that Wands is Fire and Swords is Air. This is how it will be taught for the class, but if you feel more comfortable the other way, that is fine. Not much info will be affected by it.
With that said....on with the lessons!
Wands
The Wands are the suit of creativity, action and movement. They are associated with such qualities as enthusiasm, adventure, risk-taking and confidence. This suit corresponds to the yang, or masculine principle, in Chinese philosophy and is associated with the element Fire. A flickering flame is the perfect symbol of the Wands force. This energy flows outward and generates passionate involvement.

My suggestion is to take the 3 positive traits that really stand out to you, and 3 negative that do the same and use/work with them. If you can remember more than that, great! If not, take baby steps! (no shame in that!~~ my memory isn't 'all that' at times!! :p)
Let me know what traits work best for you, or jumped out at you!
My three....adventurous, energetic and optimistic (P) and cocky, reckless and impulsive (N).
:D
