Namaste all.
I was searching for some information on MW about Dasha Mataji, when I stumbled across a thread about Kali visualization, where someone recommended starring at a picture of god or goddess for awhile, and just swaying your head back and forth for a bit. So, considering today was the last day of Durga Puja, I decided to go off and give it a shot. Initially I was going to try this with an image of Durga ma, but I'd always had more of a pull towards Kali, so I decided to try using a framed image I had of her instead. I just started out by turning the lights off in my room, putting her picture where the light from my window allowed me to better view her, and started swaying my head back and forth. Eventually my eyes drifted towards the bottom of the picture where I saw the toes of Kali's left foot, lightly touching Shiva's chest and the rest of her foot elevated just above Shiva. I closed my eyes and began to visualize Kali's foot slowly lowering the rest of itself onto Shiva's chest, while this aura of light that surrounded Kali's head began to expand, until eventually Kali's entire foot rested upon Shiva's chest , and This huge pillar of white light completely surrounded Shiva and Kali. While this was going on I felt these huge shivers travel through my spine, and my muscles began to retract.
I did several more visualizations like this, during one of which I visualized Kali shrieking in rage, while tearing up a corpse with her nails, sword and trident, and found myself screaming quietly as well. I only did these visualizations for about 10 minutes before I felt my body become extremely warm, and I felt too frightened to carry on.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
