Hi there, has anyone here got a good recipe for a mold wine (spice wine)?

We're preparing an evening where we would like to give the invitees a glass of wine at the entrance.

Has anyone got a recipee I could use?

Thanks for anything you could help me with.

Mulled wine is easy. I'll give you my recipe.

You will need.

1 bottle cheep red table wine
1 bottle cheep cream sherry
4 sticks of cinnamon roughly broken up
1 teaspoon of cloves roughly crushed
1 teaspoon of all spice roughly crushed
3 nobles of root ginger sliced and bruised
1 orange sliced
1 apple cored and pealed and studded with some cloves
Dark brown sugar

Method:
Empty both bottles into a large pan. Add cinnamon, cloves, all spice, ginger, orange slices and apple. Cover pan and heat liquid to simmer point (don't let it boil or you'll loose the alcohol - mortal sin). Reduce heat to a slow simmer and hold there for 3 to five mins. Stain off liquid and poor into glasses. Add a dark brown sugar to sweeten to taste. Drink steaming hot.

Doing it in the microwave is a good way of avoiding it coming to the boil and the alcohol boiling away!

You can also do it in a Crockpot or other slow-cooker - that works quite well and I've done that for parties. It keeps everything warm for a while - but you do need to add a bit of water every now and then as it does get more concentrated as you leave it there.

Crockpots and using the same spices also work really well for mulled apple cider - but I have to admit, I usually make my mulled cider in a single serving in the microwave. :)

LOLOL... I was thinking the same thing! Mulled wine is yummy, but for Samhain I always make Witches Brew.

Apple juice
Orange slices
Cinnamon sticks
couple cloves

Simmer on stovetop to incorporate flavors intensity, pour in cup and add Captain Morgan's Rum. You don't want to add the rum while simmering or all the boozy goodness will cook out.

Mmm, this past weekend I was at a party and they concocted Witch's Brew out of a couple of bottles of dry champagne and two medium sized containers of orange sherbet. It tasted like reeeeeally sweet Mimosas - yum!!!
