Greetings to all. I know this may seem a bit silly, to me it's a little abnormal. I've been visiting my family in missouri and for some reason ove r the last few days I've begun an abnormal fear for Daddy Long Leg spiders, it may be due to the fact that they seem to cover the house. At any given time I can count at least 20 or more resting on the doors to the house. To get to my point, I believe all creatures great and small have a place and need on our earth. I do not wish to harm them, but if ANYONE could suggest a spell or anything of help to me to help calm my fears I would be eternally grateful!
Blessed Be!

Meditate and ask them to leave. Personally I'd be loathe to do any spell or send energy to innocent little creatures; maybe you could even do a spell on yourself for courage instead.

To Myst:
many thank you's for your time and suggestion! You wouldn't happen to know a courage spell off the top of your head or perhaps a sugeestion of where I may find one?!

Nope, not off the top of my head, just gather some correspondences that make you think of courage, cast a circle, and ask for courage. Or meditate on increasing your courage and ability to deal with the spiders. Courage correspondences for me would be a tiger, tigers eye, a golden sun, golden candle, dragons blood incense. Just my thoughts tho.

Hi, pennyroyal is an herbal repelant. I used to have it in bowls thru out my home to make insects not want to come in...
Daddy longlegs are harmless to humans...courage is sometimes finding the silly in the creature. I alway thought of them as the spiders that are like tinkertoys. They look like spiders a child would make...BB

Not sure about how to encourage the lil guys to leave. I am just crossing my fingers that our son doesn't find any spiders. He has been looking under all the furniture for a spider so it can bite him and make him spiderman!!!

I just wanted to write a thank you to all who took the time to send me thoughts and suggestions for my problem!
I would just like to inform all that my fear has diminished, (at least as far as the Daddy Long Legs go!) I found that just speaking to them and thinking good thoughts about them cured me!
(I must say I liked the tinkertoys idea)

I too seem to be surrounded by Spiders! For years I have dreamt about them and my husband believes that I am a magnet for them. Where we were living recently, it was infested with Spiders, not Daddy Long legs but Australian Huntsman spiders which run like the wind! I almost used to hiperventilate when I would find one! I decided enough was enough. I couldn't bare to kill them, and my husband was getting tired of catching them and releasing for me, so I decided like any unknown topic, I would read about them and understand them. This hasn't fully cured my Arachnephobia but I am lot more relaxed when I come across a spider now. It is like anything we don't understand we will natually fear it! Good luck.
Blessed be,
Mother Mex

Hey Mex, you are absolutely right..learning is always the key. I live in scorpion county...Man talk about fear...so I learned everything I could and it did help. Now I am ready for them...but none so far....pheww. I am very glad.

Ok I'm pretty brave, the kids have had every imaginable creature they have caught as a pet at one time or another:crazy:, HOWEVER, we have these HUGE brown woods spiders here, and I'm sorry, anything bigger than my hand that can go in a crack I couldn't get a fingernail in should not be allowed. Call it Aracnaphobia(SP) or just DAMN THAT THING IS BIG!!!! When it comes to those I prefer the old can of hairspray and a lighter method!!! :uzi: If this makes me evil and unworthy, well SO BE IT!!!! They scare the heck out of me!!!
HOWEVER, grandaddy longlegs are cool! If you ask them where are the cows they will always lift one leg like they are pointing!!
Hey I grew up on a farm we made our own entertainment with the local wildlife!!!:rotfl:

I'm with you, I am not a particularly mean person, but spiders have thier place, and it is not in my home. I will obliviate any who venture across the threshold....or on the porch...or.......you get the idea1

Awww...just remember, they're more scared of you then you are of them. Picture the world from the eyes of a daddy long legs...it would be enormous and filled to the brim with danger.
Personally, I love them :)
Like everyone said, perhaps you should meditate a bit, calm the emotions a little and try to rationalize, they're so tiny, they cannot hurt you at all, and you could break them with a touch of a fingertip...but they are just innocent little guys/girls, and don't deserve it. :)

I can completely see how you feel. I have a fear of all spiders and daddy long legs are no different. I run from spiders, I think is the eight legs that get me.

ok Spiders I can handle, but my spine turns to jello if i see that thing with many legs (no i can't even say the name without cringing) :blushake: and they seem to like my house or they know that they terrorize me. I can even take a cockaroach or tarantulla(sp?) over one of those.
