I have been trying for OBE since Feb without success. My husband on the other hand has been able to since the first try. Well last night, after three nights of progressively stronger energy build ups, I got the roaring and the heavy vibrations and felt I was just about ready to exit..............when I freaked out. I totally chickened. I was paralyzed but I was able to mumble my husband awake who shoke me out of it. After I got over the fright I was mad at myself. I never expected to be scared and now I am mad that I chickened out. I guess I was afraid there would be something waiting for me.....

All you can do is try again. Now that you KNOW you can do it, it will be easier. The first time I was approached by a guide, I did the same thing. The important thing is to try again soon or else you'll get all worked up and defeat your own purpose. :)

Hi I moved this ot magick and rituals because I think astral travel is definitely quite magical.
Anyway, for some people it just takes longer then others obviously. Just keep trying. I know how you feel. Remember to use a protective circle and fill yourself with white light, maybe even make an amulet for safe travel..

Greetings Storm! I have had a very similar experience and was scared to project, I found that remembering your dreams is a keypoint for me. Once I was able to recall my spirit guide, and the love and protection he represented, the fear faded away. Hope this helps.

I've been astral projecting since I was a child...don't know where I learned to do it but I do...for me it's always been easy so I can't quite understand how hard you have been working to get to this stage...as far as meeting guides and such, I have yet to meet anyone other than the people I was going to visit...so the day some guide or spirit decides to stop and talk with me, I'll probably freak out too...enough rambling..

Mythrel; just wanted to comment that it's a lot easier to learn anything magical when you're a child. Then you don't have years of the stigma of "make believe" and "insanity" in the way of the magic. So I think it is a lot harder to learn stuff as an adult. Not that I'm trying to invalidate your knowledge or anything, I mean obviously you are way ahead of me (I can barely do OBE's right now), but just I wish I started learning as a kid too.
I envy my children that they will be encouraged to always be open.

that's true...I wish I would have learned a second language when I was a child instead of trying when I was a teen...guarantee that I would have had much better success...but I do agree that learning to do stuff when you are a child is much easier...a child's mind is more flexible and more accepting than an adult

Thanks all, sorry so late, but I have been laid up with Step throat all weekend. Not fun. I will give it another shot as soon as I am comfortable enough( glands are quite sore). I don't feel afraid. Never expected to be afraid. Wont know if I am going to get scared till I get to the vibrational state. I affirm that I will not be afraid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
