In a recent thread (http://www.mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=169941) I wrote about recent problems loosing faith. I've been struggling with this for some time now- loving my path but not necessarily believing in it, loving my patron Brigid, but not really knowing if she's there. Trying to be faithful when you have such pervasive doubt is very exhausting, so yesterday I prayed for her to send me a sign, anything to ease this gnawing in my heart.

At about five in the evening I saw a orange glow coming in the living room window, it so filled the room, I assumed I had accidentally left a light on. As I reached the living room, I saw it was coming from outside, a massively orange sunset filled the entire sky. Everything was cast in orange and the sky looked as though it was on fire. Suddenly I felt as if my heart would burst. Running outside, I took these pictures:

They really didn't capture the intensity of the orange hue cast over the landscape, or the bright reds of the sunset. I'd like to think this is a sign from Brigid- of course part of me thinks that it's just the result of smoke from an increase in wood heating this time of year... Still, in my heart I really believe it was a sign. I've never seen a sunset like that before.

beautiful - those moments are always sweetest because as hard as we try, pictures never seem to completely capture the true feeling they bring.

Glad you and She had a little chat. ;)

Beautiful! What a great experience.

Sometimes we try so hard and think *so* much on our faith that we miss the signs of the divine all around us. Taking that moment to stop, look, listen, and feel is always a way to get back on track with what your heart is telling you.

I know exactly what you're talking about!! That is how my sunset was last night ( I actually posted about it last night in my class thread)... and I know what you mean about the glowing!! It was like there was a huge "night light" glow shinning down on everything! I was driving when this was occuring, so I wasn't able to take any pictures... but it was absolutely breath taking, thought provoking, and astounding! So glad you could capture that moment forever, in a picture!

I saw the first picture and knew instantly I was going to post. It's gorgeous! I was reading the text, so I didn't scroll down yet, but when I finished reading and did... Wow. The second picture is... brilliant!

I've had a similar-ish experience to this one. I don't believe in anything supernatural, but I was falling into a depression (and getting pretty serious, there), but looking outside at the sky in a mixture of light and dark greys intermingled with reds and purples on one side, and a clear blue sky on the other, I was breathtaken. Then I turned my head to look out the other window, and a single leaf came falling down... All my worries just slipped away, and I nearly cried with joy. :)

Thanks for sharing those pictures, they're gorgeous!

Amazing photos!! I love that second one... looks like something you would see in an art gallery, mind if I "borrow it"?

How beautiful. I personally like the first one best. But I suspect that this doesn't matter to you. While I'm not suffering a crisis, I do feel something eroding away. Maybe I need to try your prayer method! Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience.

I'm also glad to hear that shadowmoon23 saw the sunset too, I wish you all could have seen it in person. It was absolutely amazing! Sometimes I wish I had a better camera to capture the beauty I see and sometimes I'm grateful I don't, at least that way I'm forced to pay attention instead of relying on a photo for memories.
