Morning after Circle casting......

I have a question regarding something odd that happened after my first circle casting. Tuesday night my husband was out of town so I thought it the perfect time for me to cast my first circle for a protection spell. Everything went well and I went to bed that night and slept more peaceabley then I had in months! The weird thing was when I woke up the next morning I was still a little groggy when the alarm went off, so slapped the snooze button and laid my head on my pillow and curled into a little ball (you know like an infant does or a kitten) and right after I closed my eyes I felt someone sit on my bed between where my head was and where my knees were.....and my name spoken.....has anyone ever had this happen to them? or can anyone give me what this might mean?

Although I did the protection spell it seems all the negativity is back the next night....any help or suggestions would be appreciated..

Okay, the sleepiness and grogginess is easy to explain. Energy work is very draining especially in the beginning :) I actually like it if it drains me a little. It makes me feel like I really accomplished something sort of like how you feel after an aerobic workout ;)

I was wondering if you could explain the sitter a little better. This might sound stupid but if you were curled up where exactly was it? Was it heavy or light? How did it call you? How did it make you feel? How did you respond? I think we would be better able to respond if we knew more.

I wouldn't do a protection spell if what I was really wanting to do was banish negativity. Those are two very different things to me :)

It sounds to me like you were in the "twilight" stage. You know, where you're not really asleep and not really awake. In my experience it is in the "twilight"stage that my spirit guide comes to me, perhaps yours was trying to get your attention?

I was curled up with my knees towards my elbows, but not that tight, not a complete fetal position, and the sitter was on the edge of my bed between my knees and elbows (I hope this is making some sense), it was heavy enough that I could feel it sit and it just said my name slowly sort of like "Niisssssalaa". I felt startled because I was expecting to open my eyes and see my husband, even though it didnt sound like his voice, but no one was there, but after a few seconds my father popped into my head and I felt a calm like I haven't felt in years....and I smiled but was still confused.

I did the protection spell to protect me from negativity, but if you have other suggestions I would love to hear them. How does one banish negativity? (as you can tell I am still very new )

Greta, it could have been .....I don't know. As I said I am new and have been studying only a year (well, not quite a year) and there is no one in my are that I can turn to with questions, execept the wise ones at MW ...I feel this is my home away from home, my family away from my own.....without MW I would truely be lost....

If your father is gone, I would say it could have been a visit from him. When we first begin meditation and controlled energy work, we raise our own vibrations of energy and become a little more succeptable to "messages". The fact that you felt so peaceful tells me whatever it was, it is a good thing and you should welcome it in the future!

It's possible that the protection spell has worked and the spirit came to you in the form of your dad (or it could be your dad - I don't know). If your father was a comforting, protective figure in your life, so that makes sense.

I feel the same as Mithrea in that protection and banishing negativity are two different things. I think there's a few threads here taking about banishing negativity. One thing I like to do is to replace the "gap" with positive energies. I think one of Myst's lessons talk about doing a cleansing. I'll check.

It could've been your dad who visited or your dad saying your name to warn you of the other spirit. Or the spirit could've been your dad.

I'm not sure; couldn't tell you because it was your message and only you can think for a minute and see if the spirit felt like your dad.

I only mention he may have wanred you about the other one because my paternal grandpa or dad always come in my dreams to warn me of stuff (tho my dad is still alive). I think it's because I've always felt safe with my dad. It's something you'll figure out :)

I'd agree with Myst on that one - my paternal grandfather does the same for all his grandchildren - even the ones that wouldn't normally even believe in it.

Semele: yes, my father passed away this past January. I agree with you that the peaceful feeling is a good thing, one more reason I feel it might be my father..

WildChild: My wise friend, I would greatly appreciate you checking on the lessons for me, as I was not aware that there was a difference in protection and banishing negativity...but will promise to be looking into it more closely now!!

Myst: My other wise friend, the spirit did feel like my dad, I really cannot explain it, but the peaceful, happy feeling was the same as I always felt around my father....

Nissala, like someone else said i wouldn't do protecton to banish negativity. A while ago i posted a purification method in this forum. I think u might like it if u don't u could always do some research to create your own method
