I paid 8 dollars for my hard cover, 360 page BOS. I got it from Borders. You have to actually go to the store to get them, I think. But they are very good books :)

Ditto for us. Borders has all kinds of blank books. We even got a Harry Potter one for Trey. He doodles and practices writing names and such...or maybe they are spells!!

You can sometimes even get them on eBay for $10 or $20. :)

The kind that I've always wanted have the carved wood covers....they're gorgeous. Usually see them for over $100 though. I'd love to find one of those for cheep...

Ohhh I would love a big fat Book of Shadows like they have in the movies. Maybe someday. Right now I have an awesome leather bound book with a leather tie closure. It has an engraved tree on it that looks really pagan. Ah! the smell of leather. It cost me $50 though which I thought was alot but I coveted so I had to have it.

I found some at a bookstore, not sure how much they cost though, but I'm sure it wouldn't be over $50. ;)

Here are some websites that sell blank books that might work out well as a Book of Shadows:
http://www.dvynewrytes.com/
http://members.aol.com/boxwoodbindery/gregA2.htm
http://bofbooks.home.mindspring.com/bbdw.html
http://www.giftshopitaly.com/store.html
Amazon also has some listed - check out http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/OB6L17KO8LLR
http://theoldentimes.com/journals.html (This one has all sorts of blank and themed blank books - some quite affordable)
And here's a site that shows how to do bookbinding yourself:

I shop garage sales and flea markets. I am always seeing elaborate and lovely blank books for really cheap....leather, cloth handmade papers etc etc, even a few wood covered ones...I use blank books for work books. My Book of Shadows is home made.
My suggestion? Make your own that expands....buy a picture album you can add to and decorate the top with whatever you see fit...wood, leather or wool...it is your book. then, buy a paper you would like to use at a art store. Cut it to size and replace the photo album ones. Then as you go..add the important pieces and spells to this book from the other "work books". I use a good grade of ink and have several different kinds of papers I have added, but it works well. I have one that laces up. so I can keep expanding it. the lacing is whateve I want it to be. I do add several sheets at a time...to save on the redo time. I use hole reinforcers for each page. It is big, and when I get it out it feels ceremonial in just that act.. :)
My Mother's book of Shadows was a ring binder with lined paper... and little hand drawn pictures glued in...told you we were kitchen witches....:D

Right now I am using an aritist portfolio case.
A 3 ring binder that closes over on it's self and holds about 300 sheets of paper. I haven't yet decided on a final design for a cover so everthing is kept safe and dust free in it's temporary home.
