Whatcha doin' for Father's Day?
I'm doing a special ritual tonight to remember and talk to my Dad. I may cook out at the lake tomorrow with family, it was something my Dad liked to do.

Sleeping in.... Pa's working the night shift and we wake up around the same time. Celebrating at lunch instead of dinner. ;)

We're going to my Mom's parents' house and doing the whole family get together thing. We bought my Dad a card today and all that :) We never do much for Father's Day, or Mother's Day.

This is the 2nd year in a row that the dh has opted out of his annual race.
We've spent all weekend working on a 77 GMC Jimmy for me. Hopefully, tomorrow we put the engine in and get it running
Never met my dad. Grandfather passed away so nothing going on that end of things

We just finished setting up a DVD player for my Dad. He'll see it in the morning when he wakes up.

We are going up to Sugarloaf NY to walk around a bit. My hubby isn't really talking to his dad at the moment so we thought it better to not do the extended family bit this year. *sigh*
But we'll spend the day together with the kids.

I'm seeing my father on tuesday, but in the meantime, I found an old pic of him and me and scanned it in to make a little 'digital' portrait of the two of us. I had to be about 3 or 4 when it was taken and it ws the only time in my life he shaved off his beard. When he did, I wouldn't kiss him until it grew back and it affected him so much, that he's had one ever since! hehehe (Oh what they do for their kids.)
This father's day, I'm a little more sentimental. I watched Oprah the other day (something I never do) but she was doing a special tribute to the fathers of 9/11. I realized watching that just how lucky I am to have my father.
He's so supportive of me and we've become great friends over the past few years as opposed to just being father/daughter. We have a relationship that he never had with his father (which is a good thing) and it just gets better all the time.
So, to my father and all of you out there--a very special father's day to all of you!!! :)

Starlite, we only ended up at one strore there. It started to pour and didn't look like it was going to let up, so we ended up at Walmart in Monroe, then from there, Palisades Center Mall for dinner. We were all over NY :p
We should meet at SugarLoaf some day. Do some shopping, hit that restaurant for some lunch...?

Well, we grabbed some sandwiches and went to riverside park. We feed the ducks, played on the playground and walked all the way across the river...on the bridge! Trey learned how to move across the monkey bars on his own. Good day!
