ancestor ritual

i want to do a ritual to connect to my ancestors. i've found p-l-e-n-t-y of good ideas on how to do this, but the problem is that my lineage is kind of hazy...my family has a lot of theories about who my ancestors were and where they came from, but we're not really sure if any of those are accurate. i don't want to be trying to connect to people who never existed or something like that....does anyone have any suggestions?

Try meditating on the Rune Othila (see the Divination forum under "Rune #23" for a picture, if you may not know what it looks like)... this is the Rune of ancestral ties... or you might begin to research your family tree...

I don't think it's necessary for you to know who your ancestors are to call upon them... they know who they are... and they will answer...
