I read the article about pagans not getting money and I hate it I mean does anybody really now what they are talking about.I mean bless the people trying to help us out,but it just doesn't sound right when you place the words "church of Satan and Wiccans" right beside each other..Did anybody else notice that?? I mean I know the guy is trying to show the diverse religions getting money,but what do most unopenminded chrisitians ( no offense) think paganism is .......

And I do think it is very unconstitutional and even childish to grant money (being the president) to one religous group and not the other..

Well...I agree...except I do believe that any and all faiths deserve the same treatment. Period. I just dont know...sometimes I think religion should just cut all ties with government. At least here in the US. Seperation of church and state (What a crock.) This place was supposed to be based on religious freedom! I dont see it. Sure, you can choose any religion you want...but all the persecution is still there.

Ah, but I digress..I know I am living in a better time than the yesteryears when it comes to religious tolerances and different faiths. But sometimes...I just get the feeling of hopelessness.

Yes, but then we also get into the semantics of what constitutes a religion and who gets the money? I mean what about solitaries like myself who claim no name to their religion, but are still deeply spiritual people. Would we get grants for our athames and offering wines?

Actually, I am very against this whole faith-based initiative thing.

This is why it should all be cast out. Let religion be seperate. No money should be 'given' to anyone. This is the only way that all faiths will get the same treatment.

By getting no treatment at all.

That's my thoughts on it, Mol. Separate it all. No religions should get any monies that they don't in some way earn themselves. The government need not be handing it all out on a platter for them. It's descriminatory.

Absolutely...and agreed. Tax breaks...maybe. But funding? No way.
