View Full Version : Stone Combinations

Just wondering what sorts of combinations everyone else uses in their homes, jewelry or ritual work, if you use any at all. Or do you prefer to use a single stone (or kind of stone) at a time?
What are the pros and cons of combining stones?
What sorts of stones do you use and why?
I wear Hematite, Rose Quartz and Citrine as bracelettes.
The Hematite I find grounds and protects me. Rose Quartz helps me to be more gentle and loving with myself and others. And the Citrine gives me energy both physically and mentally. I don't feel any conflicting energies with these stones myself but I am curious if others have tried this combo too.
Anyone have anything else to add to mine? or any examples of your own combinations?

the pros of wearing combos is additional benefits from all these stones. the cons are you can only wear a limited amount because the stones will start to cancel each others effects.
that's a good combo. hematite is an excellent stone for a scorpio. rose helps with matters of love as well as dispersing the effects of radiation. and what you said on citrine.
right now i don`t wear any stones. I`m giving them a rest. They were working their buns off. so it's time to relax.

I also wear a pink sapphire (ruby) and diamonds.
That one never comes off, so again with the love aspect and protection.

Did you have a favourite combination?

I'm a firm beleiver in the K.I.S.S. theory when it comes to this ... probably because at my age there are not too many brain cells left :weirdsmil
I normall use natural combo pieces for rooms in my house as well as for my office... mind you in my office I also have a stone cairn made up of stones from the Fraser river. For me this helps keep my energies moving foreward and never allows me to become stagnant. Nothing special about these stones... just random ones which caught my attention while I was walking the shore. I have other cairns in rooms in my house as well to help with specific energies like in my bedroom I have a cairn with rocks made up from Haida Gwaii beach stones.. this cairn helps me get a good night's sleep.
As for carrying stones. I have 2 pieces I always carry... a Quartz as well as a meteorite (the meteorite has a natural hole in it which makes it very special). I have what some would call a rock garden on my dresser beside my bed.. when I get up in the morning I always spend a few minutes with it first thing. If one jumps out at me I take it with me that day and 9 times out of 10 it proves useful.

I keep my loose stones next to my bed these days for the same reason...
Amythest is the most common one to come with me.
Seconded by a substantial chunk of polished hematite.
I like that term, rock garden.
Maybe I'll give them some sand for their bed.

yeah, low grade aquamarine(which is whitish green to almost white in color), amazonite perferably russian as it is deeper in color than the south american amazonite and pyrite.

That is exactly what I do... I use sand from the sand dunes in southern saskatchewan.. I find it is much finer than beach sand and makes for a better cleanser for them as well... at leat for me.

I was thinking fine white beach sand, or volcanic origin.

I brought some black (volcanic) beach sand back from St. Lucia a few years ago. I found it very hard to keep around and work with... the only thing that has been harder for me to grasp were meteorites.

When I was a little girl I kept a piece of black volcanic rock (you know when it gets that oiled glassy look?) in my pocket all the time, I'm not sure where it went off to but I used to love it, it made me feel powerful.
But I've always done well with fire and earth so the combined energies in that stone probably attracted me.

If you like the fire/earth combo you may want to try holding some opal... especially the stuff from just north of you (I tihnk) in errr... can't remember the name of the city... the northern most of the three in the valley.

I love opal....
my Mum had a few that my Dad picked up while in the Navy (australian or something?) I used to covet them so badly, but was never allowed to have them.
I considered buying an opal pendant not long ago.
but the funds slipped from my grasp before I could.

The store in Vernon (on the right hand side of the highway driving north) has some beautiful pieces and last I heard this was still the only location for precious opal in North America. Seeing you are close by this opal may have a special connection to you.

Hmm that might be worth the adventure. Unfortunately I don't have a vehicle at the moment.
But that can be arranged.
Thanks for the tip!

low grade aquamarine is usually sold as aquamarine.is good against psychism and relieves stress as well as amazonite plus this stone aids with luck. pyrite is another relaxer stone as well as a luck stone. a good stone for an alternative for gold.

Ah I didn't know the properties of aquamarine or amazonite.
Sounds like a great combination for someone in a spot of financial troubles or stresses.

well the place hired and fired like water and before they fired they loved to stress you out. Let's just say they had a hard time trying to break me and a whole mob of people interfered.

almost looks like aquamarine, and with a deeper blue hue than the South American variety. very pretty.

In this area it is also, at times, found associated with smokey quartz. Most of the specimens do not stand out that much but at times the combination of the two make for stunning pieces... it's a combo piece I have been looking for for some time.
