I am very cofused. I thought that the quija board was a channeling board and therefore could be made. Well i did this a few moments ago and i must say i am very dissapointed , it seems to me that the only cause of movement was the shaking of my hands. Also i got no answers to any questions i asked. I thought that the Quija board was a common pagan tool. But hey im new at this so im open to any advice. Also as a primary guide for life would the tarot be a better and more accurate source of information. I would highly appreciate all replies.

The best guide is your own thoughts :) Each divinatory tool is unique and you'll find that you'll want to try all of them, and after awhile you'll just find one you like. You can use tarot cards, runes, a mirror, a crystal ball, a pendulum, and so on.
The reason you probably had no luck with the ouija board was probably because you are new to this. Using it works better for some then others anyway but I find it also helps to practice for awhile. I also recommend cleansing the board and consecrating it, and cleansing the area afterward, and not using the board alone. There are a few threads on this if you search for ouija.
The truth is, as with any tool, the ouija board is just one some Pagans use. Not all Pagans do, and not everyone finds using them easy or likes using them at all.

I agree with Myst. I felt the same way about using the pendulum. I felt that I was influencing it and that it was telling me what I wanted to hear. I concluded that it just wasn't my tool.

Yes Frejya I feel the same way about the pendulum. I feel like, I can feel myself moving the thing. I prefer Tarot and I've never tried the Ouija but it just does NOT seem like a beginner tool. I agree with Myst and Frejya. :)

MAKING YOUR OWN OUIJA BOARD
Boards can be made out of anything.
Most boards will work - even homemade ones.
Many readers have written telling me about the creative ways they have made their own boards.
The ouija board can be used with an indicator made of plastic - wood - or a clear drinking glass.
If you are making a board from a drawing - or design you have created - please try to remember to include:
- The Alphabet
- Words that seem relevant
- Numbers - good for dates, ages, other numerical facts.
- Astrological Signs
Cover the board with clear heavy sheet of plastic or place it under a glass surface. It must have a smooth - almost slippery top.
The indicator may be purchased from Parker Brothers - or you can buy a ouija board game in a toy store and use the indicator from that game with the board you created.
Create you image and letters in black and white or in color.
Use any type of paper - or place your design directly onto a hard surface board.
If your image is made of paper place the paper on a masonite board - piece of wood - or even a table top.
Be sure to leave lots of room around the edges of the board you have designed - so the indicator has room to move around without falling off the side of the board.
Cover the design with clear plastic or some sort of clear coating. Be sure it is the exact same size as the board. Secure the plastic covering - around the edges with clear tape - (clear wide width tape).
The top of the board should be slippery.
Place your planchette - indicator on the board.
"Warm it up' by making several slow sweeping circles over the board. You can place positive energy - white light - over the board as you initiate it!!
You are now ready to begin. Good luck!

I use to teach my students to use ouija baords first, because they needed physical movement to engage their starying minds. It really depends on the user, some have great results, others absolutely nothing.
Making them is extremely simple; the same principal of pendulums. You can write YES and NO on a piece on the table and rest your index finger on a coin, then you clear your mind and ask a question. More complicated versions and methods are used.

Yes you can certainly make a ouija board. How well it works depends on a lot of things. THe concetration of spiritual energy in your area. How well you work iwth it. (some people are more successful with them than others)
you can always try again.

I remember making one many years ago out of a piece of paper and packing tape (to make it slippery). It was a mini version of the parker brother one except more personal. It seemed to work okay. But that was a long time ago.
I think I burned it when I reverted to christianity?
