Okay, I don't know why, but when I'm signed in nobody's avatar shows up, but when I'm not they do. Does anyone know why this might be? I like my avatar and I like seeing it, and avatars help me to remember people! I like people's avatars, they're cool. Help! :)

Go to edit options and check off the box/circle that says to show avatars in posts.
There's also a great Avatar Store thread in Just Talk where you can find some custom avatars.

OH! Sorry; I am such an idiot! Thank you so much, Freyja!
Cool avatar, by the way. :D

You're welcome, and thanks! I was editing options for months, it seemed, when I first joined!
Emaleth33 made my avatar. I don't know if she's still doing them, but you can post a request in the Avatar Store thread if you'd like.

I found mine here (http://www.jonathonart.com). It's the Goddess Art of Jonathon Earl Bowser, and there are some very beautiful images there. I had to shrink it a bit, though, before it would let me use it as an avatar!

I couldn't copy any of his pictures...great stuff. If I don't ask you, someone else will ~ do you have permission to use it?

I get most of mine from http://www.freeavatars.net. They have quite a big selection..heheh..something for everyone?
I'll have to check out that site you posted though, TinuvielChild. I don't think I've ever been there. :)

It says somewhere on his site, I'm not sure where, but I recall reading it, that people are free to use the images as long as they give credit... Lemme go see if I can find exactly what he said...
Aha! Here we go:
All images and text are protected by registered copyright. You are free - of course - to download these picture files to your computer, and if you would like to showcase some of my images on your own web-site, then you are invited to do so.

I didn't know that. I love his work. Now I'll have to go look at it again and find an avatar;)

Yes, he has beautiful art.
I'm not sure about that permission thing though.
I think you need to give him credit somewhere like in a signature line. Or in that space under your avatar (whatever that space is called:D )
By the Way, don't think I've chatted with you before. Welcome to our home.....of course it's yours now too!:)

I'm not sure, but I think that posting the link is acceptable. Myst would be the one to ask.
And btw, Welcome to MW!

Yes, I believe that's what he means by giving credit. That way the credit is shown anywhere the pic is. Usually the nice thing to do is place a link to his site with credit in your sig.

In response to Witchy Cowgirl's welcome: hi! I actually introduced myself a while ago, but I'm not as hard-core a poster as some people here seem to be, so I guess I got lost somewhere in all of the posts:)

Arzhela, I understand. Actually I took a break for a few weeks. With the longer days came less time to visit here. But I love it here and visit when I can. I try to stay updated with everybody, but find it hard sometimes.:) Nice to meet ya! When the circle turns and I find myself near the comfort of the fire....I'll probably be on more!
