So Luke sleeps on his tummy in his crib. I'm wondering if this alright or not. When I put him down, I put him on his back. He rolls over and sleeps both on his front and his side so I'm thinking if he does this on his own it should be okay, right?

If he's rolling back to front on his own there isn't a lot to worry about but don't over bundle him for sleep and make sure there's no impediment to his rolling back to his back.

How old is he?

I only have him in his jammies with nothing else in the crib. He'll be 6months on the 14th of this month.

I agree. Perfectly fine.

Some babies refuse to sleep on their backs from the very beginning. Whatever helps them sleep. Precious, precious sleep. lol

If they can roll over it's safer to let them do so then try to prevent them using wedges or positioning devices.

I agree. Plus, you cant sit there all night, flipping him back over onto his back everytime he rolls! :) My son did the same thing at around 5-6 months of age, and now we call it "bottoms up" as as soon as he goes to the crib, he flips to his tummy, tucks his legs under, so the booty is in the air, and that is how he settles and gets comfy.lol..

Glad you asked this question, Harry has started sleeping on his side and on his front. I started rolling him back over onto his back but he kept rolling back over onto his front or side.

I may be wrong in having this opinion, but if a baby can roll themselves over, they aren't too likely to smother, as they can roll themselves over if they are uncomfortable..

futher... you're increasing the chances of smothering them if you put all kinds of pillows and blankets in to 'prop' them in a 'safe' position....

let the kid sleep however they want.....taking a harsh darwian view... one knows.. most babys DON'T kill themseves by sleeping on their tummies.

My niece used to sleep on her tummy when she was six or so months old and when my sister and I were babysitting her once we went in to check on her and she was all but up arms and legs tucked under her and everything... my sister looks at me and says "Aww! Look! She sleeps like you!" becuase I still sleep like that... hehe... but our sister had told us not to worry about it, and she didn't die...
