I feel a little more comfortable posting here then in the Gods and Goddesses forum. Iím approaching the end of my bloods and am interested in working with a goddess who has some association with this time of change. I feel that a crone goddess is inappropriate since I have no idea when I will open that particular gate, but I may be wrong. I appreciate any comments or discussion on this topic. Thank you in advance.

I feel a little more comfortable posting here then in the Gods and Goddesses forum. Well technically it would fit in Gods and Goddesses. Why don't you feel it applies there? This sort of topic is quite appropriate to the forum there... This area is more about the path (and aspects of the path ie Dianic) and your question is more about deity in general (G&Gs realm). ;)
Anyway...

I’m approaching the end of my bloods and am interested in working with a goddess who has some association with this time of change. I feel that a crone goddess is inappropriate since I have no idea when I will open that particular gate, but I may be wrong. There are some goddesses associated with change, transitions and that have aspects linked to crone-hood.

Hekate. Transitions, liminal states, etc.

Baba Yaga. Slavic.
Associated with crone-hood. Transtions, renewal, change, death, rebirth, etc.

A lot of Goddesses can be associated with change but it really depends upon what change you would desire. For example, Kali Ma could be considered a Goddess of change but she is such a powerful force that I don't know whether I would recommend going to her.

Have you thought of why the Crone is inappropriate? A ritual designed to embrace the serious change could be an idea.

That's a good point too!
Each deity might accomplish a different type of change, transition, goal even though they're all linked to transitions and change.

I'm coming up blank off the top of my head, but I'm almost certain Dorothy Morrison has a book out about dancing the goddess incarnate (that may be the title? can't remember), and that Z Budapest has written about different goddesses associated with phases of life. I can't remember specifics though. Do you have a specific pantheon in mind? Have you meditated and asked for her to come to you without calling a specific name? I get the impression you might find the guide or goddess you need without having to nail her down to a specific popular goddess.

You might also be interested in Ruth Barrett's book, Women's Rites, Women's Mysteries, which provides an extensive discussion on creating meaningful Goddess oriented rituals to mark changes in a woman's life. It is a really lovely read, I love having it myself. I'm not sure it gives specific Goddesses (it's upstairs packed away so I can check later if you want?) but I do know it's got some great ritual ideas and could be useful for you that way.

I found this ritual which may give you some ideas:

Celebrating the End of Menstruation

Form a circle and create an altar in the middle with four red candles and four yellow candles. Prepare it with red roses if you can, and white or yellow flowers. Use a Maiden Goddess for your center piece, Athena image, or Dianna, or Artemis. Raise energy through a song or humming. When the energy is raised (you will know when), let one of the friends act as priestess.

Priestess:

We gather together to commemorate the withdrawal of the flowing bloods from our friend. We ask the Great Mother to bless our sister with good health, vitality, and gladness. Let the flow act through the younger women now, let this woman rest, she has finished her part as the Goddess of the Bloods. She is now the Goddess of the great achievements.
Celebrant now lights her four red candles.

Celebrant:

I light this first candle for the bloods that are gone. And the second one for the children and health that flow brought me (omit if not applicable). The third red candle for the flowerings of my womanhood, and fourth for the labors ended in glory.
Priestess:

I release you, and the Goddess of the Red. I accept you, said the Goddess of the Yellow Ray. I call you into my wisdom to grow in, I call you like a new Maiden, into my sciences, into my knowledge, into dreams to be manifest!

Celebrant lights her four yellow candles now.

Celebrant:

I light this first yellow candle for the release from the Reds. This second one for the flowering of my skills. This third one for friends and support, and the fourth one for the blessings from above!
Now the circle can sing songs, entertain each other, share food and drink, exchange gifts with the celebrant. When the candles reach their natural end, cast them into a living body of water and don't look back.

All: Blessed Be! It is done!

I would incline to Hestia.. I suppose because it is a time to 'return home to self' and refocus yourself for the next big adventure in life.

Wow, I have some reading to do! In answer to the question about posting here rather then in G&G is the fact that this is about a wimmin's mystery. Had I worded the question differently I probably wouldn't have this issue, but as it is, I'm getting a variety of thoughts and assistance which is really what I'm after. Thank you everyone for what you've posted! I'll get back to you. I have a migraine at the moment so I can't take the time to give thoughtful answers right now.

I'm back. The mention of Kali took me back to when I worked with her extensively—during a time of incredible change. You are right that she's a powerful force but I did have a very close relationship with her. Baba Yaga has a strong pull, as does any decent mythology. Maybe I should follow that path. Alas I cannot meditate due to my mental illness, I simply cannot trust the usual visualization process. But the ritual idea and suggestion of consulting Barret again is a good idea. Thank you again for the links and other suggestions!
