I was looking at a site, and along with the Elder Futhark runes, it had sets such as the Anglo-Saxon and Frisian Runes, Armanen Runes, Gothic Runes, Medieval Runes of Healing and Magick, Northumbrian Runes, and the Younger Futhark Runes.
Of them, the Armanen Runes speak to me the most. But are they credible? How hard would it be to find a person using them? Or a book about them?
Here's the link: http://www.execpc.com/~gronitz/futhark/index.html. Some info is under the Sets link, and the Images/Meanings link.
Thanks!

Rick's going to have to answer you on this one since I'm not familiar with these at all. Good to see you!

Guido Von List (who was heavily influenced by Theosophy) has been called the 'high priest' of the Germanic occult renaissance of the early 20th century. In 1902, while left temporarily blind following eye surgery, he reported that the Armanen Runes came to him in a vision, or dream. This 18 Rune system became the cornerstone of List's ideology. The Armanic philosophy is the foundation of much modern German High Magic, such as might be used by members of the Saturnas Fraternalis.
The Secret of the Runes by Guido Von List (1908; trans. by Stephen E. Flowers, Ph.D. [aka Edred Thorsson], 1988, Destiny Books, http://www.InnerTraditions.com ) is available from http://www.amazon.com ... I think I gave $10+S&H...
OK... history lesson ends, personal opinion begins... List was a racist & a National Socialist... I've read The Secret of the Runes; it's on the 'must read' list for any serious student of Runes. I don't use the Armanen system, not because of what they are, or what they can or can't do, but because they were 'invented' by a man (coincidentally, one with whom I have serious political & social differences), not given to us by Odin, as were the Elder Futhark. Call me old fashioned, but when it comes to Runes & Runecraft, I believe the Lore, as handed down in the Eddas & other old texts & from oral traditions, is still the best guide...

I am not familiar with Gothic Runes or Medieval Runes of Healing & Magick... the others are all 'offspring' of the Elder Futhark, & evolved with languistic needs & changes...
