someone I know thinks the inside of her home has been a victim of some kind of spell/hex that uses cat urine, she has never had a cat in her home but she knows the scent well and says for the past few days it has been extremly strong in her home
her neighbors do not like her so she suspects them
is there any spell or hex of the sort? I have never heard of any "real" ones..
if so what would they be trying to accomplish
any other ideas??
Thank you in advance

Are you sure its not human urine? Because I have heard of hexes that use human urine not so much with the cat urine.

They may be trying to get her to stop gossiping or just give her the hint to go away. I'm sure I've read of putting someone's name in a kitty litter box for those purposes (it may have even been in a SRW book, though I'm not sure).
There are some ideas on turning the evil eye, breaking curses, and the like at http://www.luckymojo.com/spells.html#white

I have no idea...but my first thought is what if a cat peed on the outside of her house, such as an air conditioner unit or the laundry lint thingy?

It's possible someone is trying to do some work on her - it's also possible she has a cat living around her house who likes something in her lawn/garden.
I'd make a witch bottle and bury it, get some red brick dust from your local Lowes or Home Depot and throw it on the front steps, or not having that, some laundry blueing.
After that, try making a pie and taking it to the disgruntled neighbors and see if they care to talk about their issues over a cuppa tea.

My immediate thought is 'how long has she lived there'?
Whatever the source I hope she finds the means to eliminate the smell and deal with anything that is possibly coming her way.

To answer the question, I'd need more specifics, even if those are only thoughts or vibes.
It can't be that she suspects a hex only because of the scent of what is most likely cat urine.
Is there more going on that you'd be willing to share?
If it is too private, I understand, but to handle a hex, we need to examine the situation.
Are her neighbors Adepts?
Have they threatened to hex her?
Has anything else amiss been going on?

I think noticing the smell of cat urine and jumping to the conclusion that there's a hex is a bit extreme. It's probably just that, cat urine o.O.
Usually the most logical/rational explanation is the correct one.

Is there anything going on besides her smelling the odor?
Has anyone lived there prior to her?
Could she have tracked it inside on her shoes?

How insulting is it to assume the person in question is a doofus and never thought to check and find an actual cat's bathroom spot near her house or on her household objects?
My assumption, idiotic and naieve as it may be, is that she smelled cat piss and walked around the house from room to room going "That smells like cat piss. Where the hell is that smell coming from?" until she ran out of places to check and started pondering alternative explanations. Why do I assume that? Because it's what I figure any non-doofus would do in that situation.
I have no reason to assume that an otherwise healthy adult would smell cat piss and say "That smells like cat piss. It must be a hex!" with no intervening steps.

This was my thought too. I wouldn't have her start getting paranoid over it. Besides, if she feels it was cursed, then all she needs to do is a purification.
I'd copy the thread on the purifying an apt., and give the ideas to her.
Likely as well, she could use a horseshoe, or iron nail, and charge it with a lodestone, face it AWAY from her home, at the doorstep, underneath a mat or something, to reflect any negative energy back to it's sender.
There are all sorts of countermagick methods for this...if this is really the case.

Whether or not this person checked all through her house before thinking it was a hex (I don't know either way), there are a lot of things that I've mistaken for cat urine smell before (cleaning products with ammonia, raw onions) , so I'm in the camp that would think there's a mundane explanation unless there's evidence to the contrary. If she has people in her life who are practitioners or if she sees other evidence of hexing, that'd be different.
But a purification/uncrossing couldn't hurt anyway, and it might help deodorize! :hehehehe:

well it might not be cat pee, it could be another animal. Does she have an attic or something? Maybe there is a cat or other animal living up there, or under a basement or something. I've never heard of anything to do with cat pee, although some people use odd odd things for spells. Maybe she should try shampooing the carpet, and lots and lots of febreeze. Cleansing the house probably wouldn't hurt either.

I wonder if the original thread starter has sussed this problem yet?

Sounds like a naughty animal got in the house or outside the house and decided her place would make a awsome bathroom. I get the smell of cat wee inside when this evil white cat comes howling around at 3am in the morning and decides the backdoor would make a fantastic target to spray on. Open the door and the wind carries it all through the house...

I agree that there might be a logical (though to this point unfound) reason for the smell. However, yes indeed their is a "get rid of neighbor" spell involving cat piss and/or shit! I have 2 versions in my books.
I would say go ahead and do the uncrossing/hexing spell (can't hurt) then if it's still there keep looking for other reasons. We had a problem when the heat turned on for years. The "piss" smell was real bad in the kitchen and upstairs kept blaming our cat because they had it too. When they did some remodeling and put in new duct work it wen away. They said it might have been animals pissing in the crawl space.

Easy fix, provided you don't have any other pets.
Goto your local Zoo get some Loin feces and spread them around your house. You have an idea what happens when neighboring animals get a wif of Lion poop? Their ears pin back and they pack their bags and move to the next state. If that isn't a posability you can attempt to dump your own stool around the joint the mark territory, that'll scare lots of animals away too as human waste does a similar thing, just make sure in either case its tasteful doses and doesn't supersede the scent of the urine smell :)
If the smell continues after that you know there might be something witchy up.
Really though, male cats love to spray everywhere, if a male cat has moved into the neighborhood that'll defiantly be the case.

That's true..but at the same time, she DID only provide us with the information of the scent of cat urine being noticed. That's all we have to go by. I'd think that even if she can't find the source of the smell, it's still probably just cat urine.
However..if there is still worry, you could always do a purification ritual, as some have said.

I'm with you. How useful is it for a dozen people to assume she's an idiot and didn't think to look around first.
I try not to assume people are stupid.
