Give them a bath!

Scarlet LOVES her bath time.
And the best thing is... It knocks her right out after she is done!

I try to time her bath times in the evenings, about an hour before her bedtime. That way she is clean, ready to eat and sleepy.

Today I was debating whether I should bathe her or not tonight (I usually bathe her every other night) because I am super tired... But she threw up all over herself, thereby making the decision for me (gotta love those "The Exorcist" moments...

So I bathed her, let her swish her legs around for about 10 mins as I was cleaning her. I got her out, put on a clean diaper, her night gown, and placed her in her bouncer expecting her to talk to her friends (the elephants hanging from the bouncer) for a bit, then announcing she is hungry... So, after strapping her in the bouncer, I go to the kitchen to make her a bottle, I come back after 2 mins -- She is OUT LOL

Ahhh, the quiet time... I love it.

If she doesn't wake up in an hour, I'll wake her up, feed her and put her in bed.

LOVE the bath though...
So if your infant won't go to sleep, or is having a hard time sleeping -- draw them a nice warm bubble bath, let them enjoy it for about 10 mins, and then the magic shall begin!

Heheh.

my daughter hated the bath at first, i mean she would scream sputter and throw a hissy fit of hiroshimec proportions. usually dancing or rocking her worked, when she wouldn't sleep at night in her crib and the babyswing didn't work we found that she was out in minutes in her carseat, and when all else failed, taking her out in the early evening calmed her down in a heartbeat.

It's so lovely to read about babies who love their bath times and how it helps them drift off to sleep. It's definitely one of those things that many fit into the bedtime routine and can work really well. Sounds like heaven to me!

In our case though, Baby hated baths. First he didn't like being naked. Now he'll tolerate them for about 5 minutes before it's OHMIGOD MOMMY GET ME OUTTA HERE. Really his problem is now he can't crawl around or cruise in the tub. I just try to wash him fast and have a towel handy because once he's decided he's coming out there's no stopping him.

My first two liked baths and would calm right down in the water, but my last screamed bloody murder everytime I so much as changed his diaper, let alone stripped him down for a bath.

 Mine still passes out to Linkin Park, from hearing it so many times in the womb I think. I spent many pregnant evenings with Linkin Park turned up, my feet resting up on the subwoofer.

I can't believe some babies don't like bath time.

Scarlet LOVES it.. She lays there in her baby tub seat that us propped in her own little purple tub (later it can be taken out when she is able to sit up by her self), and just moves her legs around in the water constantly. She looks SO focused too LOL

Then her dad dries her up with her towel, changes her and puts her PJs on, and I take her and feed her a nice warm bottle, and she is OUT cold for the night 99% of the time.
