Has anyone ever heard of a monster called the Vasenji or Visenji? I've googled and can't find anything on it.

Do you know which pantheon or culture they're from?

I searched Yahoo and it offered a correction of "Basenji" but that just came up with a dog breed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basenji). Hm. Often in some languages V and B either sound the same or are interchangeable.

It almost looks Slavic or Baltic...or something. I'm not sure though. The Basenji dog breed comes from Central Africa, though I don't know if the name does as well.

Do you have any other information? What it is (dragon, etc)? What it does? Stuff like that.

I have no idea whatsoever, I had a dream that I was at the most gorgeous ocean ever and three of these visenji charms washed up on the shore, in gold, turquoise, and silver and that it was a big problem, but i could never get a proper look at them. so i wanted to know if there was such a creature.

It could be that it isn't a creature in any known mythology and one that is only relevant for your own personal mythology, it could be a way to look into.

Maybe try and see if they/it shows up in your dreams again, try and get a better look at it, learn more about it, maybe try and communicate with it, see where it takes you.

Hope this helps :).

well my boyfriend seems to have vaguely heard of it, and told me it was some sort of monster. but i've found nothing. as a matter of fact you know what? it probably was nothing, although I've never heard of a personal mythology. although i suppose things like creature from the black lagoon, dracula, frankinstein and elvira could fall under that category?:hmmmmm:

A personal mythology to me, is something that is something personal for yourself, Joseph Campbell once said 'Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths', which I think is a cool quote. So if you dreamt something that has significance for you, it can be part of your personal mythology.

Maybe it was a monster in your own private dream world.

Hope that made some sense :).

Strange I should see this looking for something else entirely...

The three charms that washed up likely each have a separate meaning, though I can't reliable say what the meanings would be, that's something you'd have to work out on your own. You may find the same "charms" occurring in different dreams, though they may appear as different objects with different names, or perhaps even appear as creatures.

The dream world, as you know, can be quite a surreal place. Things are rarely as expected.

From my own understanding, which may or may not apply here, gold relates to physical life, silver to astral life and turquoise to intense healing/purification. Though the turquoise loses some in translation.

You might also consider the scenario. Land meets sea, so that's two elements, possible three if you feel air was playing a part as well. Time of day/night in the dream can play a part in possible meanings. Basically, every tiny detail can mean something, but on the other hand you can try reading too much in those details.

Always pay attention to those little feelings, the gut instinct, etc.

I'd be interested to know if you've made any progress with this since it was first posted.

Unforenately due to passage of the ages, information on mystical/spiritual creatures are lost to the sands of time...
however the creature 'Vasenji' could be just the name of the individual creature you encounted

for any creatures of old to reexist in this world again, one must remember them to allow them to come back and take shape again

perhaps said creature was reaching out to you for this mean or some other reason...
if Vasenji appears in your dream again, make sure to write down all the details you can remember as soon as you woke up and no later
then perhaps then it'll provide another clue into what he is

or you could refer to a pro they will try for you to get in contact

Cool post, and makes sense, IMO.
