lots of astrologists saying this moon will be a scattered vibe, being in Gemini, with the sun now being in Sag. (I'd expect it more.. bi polar:)

....the energy is usually quite high, though very scattered with the Gemini energies. Not the best position for the moon, but good for workings involving communications, and school.
from http://www.theoraclechamber.com/almanac.html

therefore if anyone would have tips for riding out a full moon's intensity, whether the moon's energy directly, and also being within a community of people whom the moon is having it's way with that would be cool

myself, I find improvizing hare krishna chants works wonders. that and staying grounded sheilded centered and maybe a pillar of light visualization.

what works for you, if a full moon's influence is adverse? or if it's in Gemini

blessings :)

The feeling I get from this full moon being in talkative gemini with the sun in not-so-tactful sag is think before you speak. LOL.
I'll be heeding that advice!

I usually just carry on as I always do, and I'm ready for my emotions to take me for a ride. :)

Yep grounding, and meditation are good things. Shielding. I always do the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram up rising, but for this I will do it morning and evening. Love the LBRP if you can appreciate the Judeo/Chrisitian names of the God. Or try the Wiccan, or supply your own God/dess names, as they all work well.

That is my armor, and in the chakra COT there are several good Guided Meditations that might be good to occupy your mind. Keeping my mind occupied is the key for me. It doesn't matter what it is that occupies my mind, I even have used World of Warcraft to do that successfully.

:( Communication is our biggest issue, always has been. But we're getting better at it. Time apart has been really, really good for us. Still don't know what we want, but we aren't so edgy around each other anymore.

Blessings,

The only Full Moons of the year that I consistantly go through changes on, like clockwork, year after year, in summer and winter, are the Aquarius/Leo axis Full Moons, but this is likely becaue I am a Full Moon baby myself - Aquarius Sun, Leo Moon. I have never really computed that there are other universally difficult, or blessed months for me. Is it just a Nov.- Dec. holiday thing, or does the Sag Full moon (Gemini Sun) bother folk here too? This happens every May-June, when school is getting out?

Or is it this particular Gemini holiday Full Moon season that seems hard? I would suggest that this is because Mars in RX in Cancer right now, which limits our resources and energy. But that is only part of it:

Here is a deeper look at Gemini Full Moon 2007 specifically:

http://www.astrowisdom.com/thisfullmoon.htm

The Full Moon in Gemini is supposed to be a time of freely speaking one's mind; but watch out, with overblown Jupiter conjunct ever-intense Pluto in Sagittarius and blunt Mercury in Scorpio, putting one's foot in one's mouth may be hard to avoid. On the other hand, these planets will create a tidal wave of humanitarian feelings right on schedule for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Remember, when diversity (Gemini) and communality (Sagittarius), meet revelation (Uranus in Pisces), generosity (Jupiter) and transformative thinking (Mercury in Scorpio), great things (Sun) can happen to transform (Pluto) a bleak and disconnected world (Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius).

The grand square of Sun/Moon/Saturn/Nodal Axis along with Mercury in Scorpio and Jupiter/Pluto in Sagittarius will challenge us to look fear straight in the eye and play with the possibility of changing our fixed ideas about how everything we think we believe is true. Think… meaning questioning the validity of our thoughts as truth; believe... meaning allowing the free-flowing energy of the Moon in Gemini to loosen our attachment to codified, dogmatic truths.

One great way to do this is to fill the room with a variety of viewpoints. Since Full Moons are celebratory events, it's a great time for a party. Invite a wide-ranging group of people and let them experience a diverse set of opinions and ideas while having fun. (Enjoy this time when hardened distinctions between red and blue seem have blurred a bit!) Or Gemini generally likes the lighter side of things. With Venus in Libra and Mars in Cancer, stick to a party centered on networking. Be a bit daring and create an event to share and expand knowledge; like a teach-in on a subject you wish to learn more about. Show an informative video or invite a live speaker. But above all, be social. Don't sit home in isolation.

I love Sagetarius full moons, any time of the year. :)

seems to me there's certain signs or oppositions that the moon may be in, at full ripeness, that may be less than exalting.

planning on sitting at home in isolation. ;)

Our Grove is celebrating this Esbat on Saturday evening. I plan to start the evening with a meditation to help everyone draw in both earth and cosmos energies and use them to create personal shields. Then we'll head outside (in the snow ~ brr!) to do the ritual.

I'm taking a long piece of white cord and will pass it through the smoke of the god and goddess candles and then hold it up to the moon to charge and bless it. Then we will pass it around the circle with everyone wrapping some of the cord around their wrist before passing it on. Then another member will go around cutting the cord and tying it loosely for each person to keep as a reminder of the group's connection with each other.

After a bounteous pot luck dinner we'll spend some time working with energy, sending it to each other and practicing feeling it. Doing stuff like pointing a finger to send the energy to a partner's right or left hand while they have their eyes closed and see if they can feel which hand is receiving the energy. Most of the members of the group have no experience with playing around with energy/magic and I think that's why our rituals used to be pretty lame (I don't think our former leader had any experience playing around with energy/magic either.) I believe being able to feel the energy will make our rituals more meaningful and spiritual.

edited to add... yeesh, I almost forgot the main point of this. I think all this sharing of energy will lead to better communications among the group, both spoken and unspoken.

Hi Gourd,

"I love Sagetarius full moons, any time of the year." A Sag. Full Moon only happens once a year in May-June. Occasionally there are two Sag. Full Moons while Sun is in Gemini during that month. This is called a Blue Moon.

Sag and Gemini work as a team, can't separate them during a Full Moon. A Full Moon is the time each month when the Moon and Sun are equal and BOTH pumping. When the Full Moon is in Sag, the Sun is in Gemini; can't help itself. When the Sun is in Sag, then it will be a Gemini Full Moon (again, the sun is opposite the moon during a Full Moon). Happens every year at the same time and the experience always comes in sets. Nov.-Dec is always a Sag Sun/Gem Moon time of year and May/June is always the Gemini Sun, Sag Moon time of year.

Lunacie,

Sounds like a wonderful ritual! We are having a big bonfire tonight. Let us know how it goes!

PS -

Here is an astrologer using the energy of this time of year, this Sag/Gemini day to start a blog!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
http://starsdanceastrology.blogspot.com/2006/12/sun-in-sagittarius-and-moon-in-gemini.html
Today is the Full Moon in Gemini. I am reading a wonderful book on the Moon by Darby Costello, The Astrological Moon. She writes," To achieve your purpose, to let your Sun shine, to fulfill your destiny, you have to do it through the Moon. The Moon describes how you interact with life from day to day." The Sun's goal right now is symbolized through the energy of Sagittarius.
With my Ascendant in Sagittarius, I resonate with a Sagittarian life destiny - to seek and express the truth as it changes and shifts before my eyes. The Moon in Gemini, today, is my means of achieving that destiny. Through the Gemini Moon, I reach out, and connect to this mysterious new world for me, the world of blogs. Today at the Full Moon, I set my intention to share my mutable truth—my daily connection to meaning— through words, and hopefully through conversation with my readers.
Today, I invite you to think about how you express and connect with others about the truth you see before you. And can you see yourself in a world with other people doing the very same thing? I ask myself, How do I open myself enough to listen, and calm myself enough to hear the truth of the world?
An interesting read. I guess I'm not going to worry about this anymore. I loved the blogs, made that 5th chakra of mine start going "Well why don't we blog?" The Gemini Moon chimes in; "Well because we just can't make that kind of commitment. Those blogs just don't write themselves." Well at least I assigned it to Gemini, but not sure if that is the culprit.
This was written a year ago but it the same advice for this year too! Gemini Full Moons are fun. If this is an otherwise hard time for you, or a lonely time, get out anyway and feed your heart and mind. Visit a museum, take a short road trip, join an internet forum...
FULL MOON GEMINI
WOW--go outside and LOOK UP! That Full Moon is a beauty!
The next couple of days/nights, playful Gemini creates a nice atmosphere for impromptu get togethers. Call up a friend for a coffee date, plan an after work happy hour, or get some folks over to help decorate the tree.. you choose.
Hi Gourd,
The Gemini/Sag, axis is all about communication and education! So how did the Full Moon these last couple days go for you? The Moon is still in Gemini today which will tend to make folks wish to shop for electronics, or make their internet connection crash (this happened to a friend, and she lost phone service too!). Personally I started crocheting a witchy shawl. This is a Taurus Rising aprox. to Gemini energy - busy fingers...nothing else, just keep those digits dancing!
The Moon stays in a sign about 2.5 days, and of course the Sun hangs out in a sign for just about 1 month. To honor the Gem-many and Sagely-Aware-ius Full Moon 2007, I am going to keep this thread going, and track the Moon changes. It is a great way to get a FEEL for astrology - literally. The Moon controls the MOOD of the days....
The Gemini Moon is an intuitive Moon...a rapid learner operating on a mental plane. This is a rather charming Moon with magnificent speaking and writing talents. This Moon struggles to maintain independence and tends to be high-strung...at times, a restless and somewhat confusing combination. However, the swift mental activity of the inherent Gemini character coupled with the emotionality of the Moon causes feelings to be held in too much scrutiny. The Gemini Moon expresses emotions in an uneven and inconsistent manner while harboring a direct need to speak the truth.
In general, those with the Moon in Gemini like to exercise both body and mind. Their time is usually divided between studying and socializing. They may live in more than one place or change residence quite often. In short, these individuals like to move around. The Moon in Gemini is excellent in terms of intellect and those who fall under its jurisdiction are inevitably attracted to the literary and the scientific, which tends to indicate that the chosen vocation will also be somewhat intellectual...writer, teacher, journalist or scientist, etc. However, the influence of Gemini usually leads to the changing of careers as often as it leads to the changing of residence. Gemini's theme will continue through the life of this individual...he or she may be ambidextrous and will probably find it easy to do two things at once. Those with their Moon sign in Gemini are not always honest people, particularly in their dealings with those around them. However, they are usually so proficient at deception, that others rarely realize they have been hoodwinked. Moon in Gemini people tend to be nervous, witty and changeable, thriving on communication and the "cut and thrust" of the social world. Boredom cannot be tolerated by these persons and there is a proclavity for an "up and down" type of personality. The spoken word is the chief means of relating for those who fall under the jurisdiction of this Moon sign, and they are equally adept at coming up with the perfect "put-down" as they are with impressing others through their cleverness and wit. Working in media or travel are ideal for those with the Moon in Gemini, as are careers in sales. However, there is a proclavity for these individuals to push themselves too hard and they often feel exhausted when they have overdone the "partying." Nevertheless, after a brief respite, they are ready to forge headlong into the world once more. A person born with the Moon in Gemini is not likely to be happy with his or her own company for very long.
Gemini Moon Influence On The Fire Signs
(Aries - Leo - Sagittarius)
Provides a strong leadership aspect to the personality
Gemini Moon Influence On The Air Signs
(Libra - Aquarius - Gemini)
Provides an expressive communication aspect to the personality
Gemini Moon Influence On The Earth Signs
(Capricorn - Taurus - Virgo)
Provides a quick-minded aspect to the personality
Gemini Moon Influence On The Water Signs
(Cancer - Scorpio - Pisces)
Provides an extremely creative aspect to the personality
I got in a fight with my husband over his lack of communication (go figure!) and then we made up. Still separated, but something happened yesterday that showed me exactly WHY I feel that it's not over yet.
It was odd, because in the middle of the fight, I remembered the Sag. Sun/Gemini Moon thing, and immediately calmed down, and began working more patiently on communication. It helped tremendously.
Dear All,
Other tales of the Gemini Full Moon?
I have one! Phone rang right as we were leaving to drive to that Full Moon bonfire. The host wanted us to pick up some car mechanic's goop and deliver it to him. I think, "How Gemini! Shop and deliver!" So we stopped at a car parts shop and we were the only customers. But soon we had the whole staff involved because the goo our friend asked for was not, it turned out, the right goo for the job. This truth was reached after much conferencing of experts and a cell phone was borrowed and our friend was consulted and the correct goop was agreed upon, all in happy humor. "How Gemini!" I thought.
Then the young clerk there started juggling our goop and quart of oil and some strange car tool gizmo.
"You are a Gemini -right?" I asked him.
"NO!" he hooted gleefully. "I fooled you. I am a Sagittarius!"
"Darn. You sure fooled me! A Sag! Nope, you definately got me there!"
it was splendid. lots of inner and outer progress. I didn't find Sag really took over until after the moon was past full, like today, as was very near the Scorpio-Sag cusp. it's one of the three times a year the Sun sign changes from water to fire, which I figure would be a very changeable time sun wise. I should ask you about that. :)
I found this Gemini fullmoon to be an effective stimulant. lol
so, unless this is a blue moon, we can be sure that the next full moon will be in Cancer, with the sun in Capricorn? wow, there's a real symetry to this.
wouldn't that mean New Moons would always be in the same sign as the Sun? I will do a search to see if I can find the answer... this is wild!
blessings, gordYes, the New Moon is when the Moon conjuncts the Sun, so that they're in the same zodiacal degree. Here's some information about the Moon and its phases. (http://www.geocities.com/heartland/fields/8616/moonfacts.html)
RedRose
Dear All,
The Moon changes sign every 2.5 days. Today the Moon is in her own home sign of Cancer. It is the Mama Yin Day of this Lunar cycle. Reach out, call Om!
Now look at your scope and find where Cancer is, what House has the 69 sign on it's cusp (or post your scope and we will tell you). I have two Houses with Cancer on their cusps, my 3rd and my 4th Houses. So the Moon rules these 2 Houses for me, and the Moon rules a House (maybe two) in your scope too. My Moon is in Leo, but in my 4th House, so that is why I LOVE watching the MOON go around and around, and I adore sharing this experience.
Dunno about a website, but there's a handy little program called Lunabar that sits in your taskbar and displays the current moon phase plus the sign and degree. It also has many other handy features, such as an almanac for any date, VOC dates etc. It's free and you can download it from www.lunabar.org (http://lunabar.org).
Oops, forgot to mention that those time sare GMT - Greenwich Mean Time ala UK. Subtract 8 hours for Pacific Standard Time, and 5 Hours for Eastern Standard Time USA. I live on the West Coast so yesterday the Moon went into Leo at 5:30 am (8:30am EST). This meant that yesterday was a busy day for me, as is today. I did experience a couple very Leo-like happenings - one is I received word that I actually got a job I wanted. The other is that we are "auditioning" renters right now.
Tomorrow the Moon moves into Virgo around 11:45am PST, 2:45pm EST. The feel of Leo is very different from Virgo. Leo says, "Express Yourself, Party, Perform!", Virgo says, "put a sock in it, be humble, and work harder." This will be EXTRA obvious because tomorrow the Moon conjuncts Saturn in the sky - great day to clean, do your books, work and work. Be careful and conscientious.
One thing that happened here was that it snowed; making everyone pretty homebound what with how icy the roads are under the snow. A friend got stuck in town and spent the night with us, and another young friend went sledding and crashed and chipped her front tooth.
Good Day!
Another Virgo Moon day but it has moved away from Saturn Opposition Uranus, however now it is squared the Jupiter conjunct Pluto in the Sky in Sag! Squares make things happen; they tend to force the circumstances.
Stay humble, stay focussed, handle the details and be careful and conscientious today (Moon in Virgo) - make sure to spend some time (or all of it) working on your best VISION/MISSION (Jupiter/Pluto conjunct in Sagely-Aware-ious). Make a list of the best things you can imagine happening; personally, locally, globally.
Note: Don't forget that this is a MarRX time and we are being tested on anger management. Hold you temper. Fight fair. Stand up for yourself, but do it with savy and grace if at all possible. When in doubt, wait.
In my scope, Moon in the Sky is just kissing the cusp of my 6th House, and Jupiter/Pluto are conjunct my NN/Venus/Ceres complex in my 8th House. This makes this an extra powerful day for me; which has to do with work and spiritual deep stuff, and my Destiny (NN) will be rung up today. But by bedtime the mood changes again, as the Moon moves into Libra.
Ah Lovely Libra...the Moon LOVES being there.
This New Moon in Sagittarius marks a break from tradition as the desire for change overcomes the desire to stick with comfortable old habits. Finding small ways to experiment reduces the pressure to make radical moves or get locked down in a futile pattern of resistance to the unfolding future. We are entering unfamiliar territory and the rewards of moving through uncharted waters are excitement, freedom and discovery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lots happening between now and the Solstice and Full Moon:

From: http://www.stariq.com/NewMoonReport.HTM

New Moon in Sagittarius
Sunday, December 9, 9:40 am PST, 12:40 pm EST

The impetuousness of the Sagittarius New Moon is fueled by a strong 90-degree square from electric Uranus that is bound to bring surprises. Moods can shift in the blink of an eye, plans change in an instant, and wild ideas pop into our heads without warning. The urge for freedom is so strong that it's tempting to violate rules and abandon commitments. An impulse to break from routine and responsibility makes it hard to maintain discipline. But instead of committing petty acts of rebellion against others, find true liberation by changing your own habits and patterns. One small step in a new direction can open up a new world of possibilities.

Jupiter conjunct Pluto
Tuesday, December 11

Extreme beliefs can provoke philosophical debates as opinionated Jupiter joins with intense Pluto for the first time in 13 years. A tendency to judge others harshly comes from exaggerated fears. When someone insists that they have all the answers, steer clear instead of falling into a frustrating debate. This is a time to empty ourselves of outmoded ideas and dreams, clear the deck of false expectations, make room for our deepest desires to emerge, and create a realistic plan to fulfill them.

Moon's North Node in Aquarius
Monday, December 17

The karmic point of evolution shifts from the Piscean realm of compassionate feelings to the Aquarian one of compassionate ideas. Development of community values and collective action is required to counter the egocentrism of the South Node in Leo. Learning to be more objective and seeing our individual stories as threads in the fabric of collective society will help restore balance during the next 18 months.

Jupiter in Capricorn
Tuesday, December 18, 12:12 pm PST, 3:12 pm EST

The planet of exuberant expansion may feel cramped in no-nonsense Capricorn where theories must be proven and success comes from sustained effort and commitment. Negative thinking about the future is possible in this sometimes cynical sign, but it may simply be that pragmatism returns to align our hopes for tomorrow with the realities of today. Speculators and drifting dreamers could suffer disappointment, yet those with discipline, patience and respect for earth's natural cycles can slowly construct their roads to success.

Saturn Retrograde
Wednesday, December 19

Saturn's penchant for order becomes more of an internal issue than one dependent upon the conditions set by others. Finding authority within ourselves is how we learn the mastery that gives a sense of organization and control to our lives. Being true to oneself is not a matter of living up to some lofty principles, but being as honest as we can about what we feel inside. Pretty or petty, noble or not, the truth of knowing where we stand makes it possible to go anywhere with confidence.

Mental Mercury is particularly rational in practical Capricorn. The mind's eye is directed toward problem-solving and organization to produce concrete results instead of vague speculation. While abstract thinking may be replaced with a narrower perspective, this is an excellent time for constructive conversations free of emotional excess and managing the complex procedures required for success.

The Winter Solstice (Summer in Sydney) is a time to set priorities. As we approach the end of 2007 it's natural to look back and assess your accomplishments and what remains to be done. Aiming high provides motivation to advance yourself personally and professionally. Establishing lofty goals offers the incentive needed to maintain focus throughout the year ahead. If you doubt that you can advance your ambitions, remember that you only have to take one step at a time to climb the highest mountain. There is no one else you need to impress; set your own schedule, be responsible to yourself, and you'll find the way. Keep showing up with a sense of purpose and a will to improve and you can reach the summit.

Ha, how typical to miss mentioning the Moon in Capricorn. Capricorns are too busy to spend hours on the internet and they don't believe in astrology anyway. Well, many of them don't. The rest write books.

Now the Moon is Aquarium! Do something eccentric today, for the good of all beings.

Well I'll sure feel Jupiter locked in Capricorn tomorrow. Another home study visit (so even more paperwork to do) while impatiently adopting our nephew through mountains of paperwork and requirements. I know we'll get through it all, it's just hard to contain my exuberance. And hard to swallow that we won't get to visit him or have him here before Xmas because of all that red tape and process.

Yes, things are intense for these next days and we have you and your nephew and family surrounded in our prayers! Not that you need worry. It is all meant to be! Ordained in the heavens!

Moon enters Taurus today. Stay home, make love and/or holiday cookies.

PS - Though, if you must shop, this would be a slower day than the last two. I must say that I do not enjoy driving or shopping when the Moon is in Aries.; too competitive by far.

I must say I'm looking forward to the beautiful full moon in Cancer this time around. I have a very profound relationship with the moon, being as my natal moon is at 21 degrees Cancer (conj Venus, whoo!) and there's something about the Cancer full moon that makes me feel very vibrant and lively, usually. As if I've reached a deep well of personal power and can channel it in interesting ways. :)
