That sounds really cute! I added it to my Amazon wish list! I just ordered Strega Nona Christmas. I really like her other books, I suspect I'll enjoy this one! It's not pagan, perse, but we love Berenstain Bears, The Bears' Christmas.

It's not really a "holiday" book, but one of my favorite winter-time kids books is Owl Moon. It's about a young child whose father takes her owling in the woods on a winter night.

I think it was a Caldecott book, too.
