For a long time now the massive list of stuck threads in this and the pregnancy forum has annoyed me.

However, looking through them I can find few threads that can warrant being unstuck because most are important. Also, I'm unsure if anyone really needs some threads because they haven't been posted in in a year or more.

So, I'm going to list the threads that I am considering unsticking and if anyone has an objection please speak up!

If anyone has any other ideas on how to shorten things down, let me know. I was considering a requesting a sub forum for support threads, because we have about five of them....but five threads just doesn't seem like enough for it's own forum. I donno. Ideas appreciated.

Threads under consideration:

Parenting Forum

Pics of our Kiddos - reason: this thread was created so people would post there instead of creating individual posts full of pictures. However, I prefer individual threads because they are more personal and your pictures don't get lost in a huge thread.

Secret Santa - unstickied as of November 30th (last day for sign up is Nov 29)

What do I REALLY need for my newborn? Mothers, please advise! - possibly moved to Pregnancy side

Frustration support - reason: no posts since July 2005

Miscarriage and infertility support - move to pregnancy forum? or does that seem inappropriate?

Pregnancy Forum:

When are you due - create a new list, chuck the old? Rockprincess is very rarely in the forum anymore - she sticks to the Gingerwitches thread.

waiting game support thread - reason: no posts since July

"Stork Mail" pregnancy announcements. - reason: most people just create a thread in the forum to say hey, I'm pregnant! It makes it more personal and can turn into a pregnancy thread.

Again, any suggestions are appreciated! This is your forum and I want to make it as comfortable as possible for you. :)

All IMHO, YMMV, no offense meant, yada yada ;)

Re: Miscarriage thread - would really rather it stay here, can be painful to be in the forum with all the pregnancy excitement (maybe I'm just oversensitive, having lost 4 pregnancies, but I wanted to put in a comment as someone who keeps up with that thread and has been there).

Stork mail - was first created to centralize all the pregnancy announcements when people weren't doing their own threads, I agree now that people are starting their own pregnancy threads it's probably good to unstick it.

What do I REALLY need - good to go to pregnancy too IMHO

I agree that a few can be unstuckied since people are starting their own personal threads rather then posting in the sticky one - frustration support, waiting game support. And I agree that we should have a new "when are you due" thread - it's nice to keep it centralized but it would be great to have a guide keep it updated and start fresh.

/All IMHO, YMMV, no offense meant ;)

P.S. Congrats you were chosen as guide here, I love this forum lately, it is so nice to have support and other mommies to talk with - thanks for your support and willingness to help out as a guide. Thanks everyone else for making this a safe mommy/daddy lounge.

No offence taken with anything...I asked because I wanted opinions and ideas. :)

Keep it up ladies, I want to know what everything thinks.

Edit - oh and thanks Rain :) This is practically the only forum I come to now, so I want to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone. I know how important it is to have other moms to come to.

I have no issue with any of those suggestions except for the Miscarriage/Infertility Support thread. I would leave that in the main board because it might be really difficult for some to visit the Pregnancy forum.

Also, I realized I forgot to congratulate you. Congrats! You are a wonderful addition to the Forum Guide family. :D

I really have to throw in my oar here, too, on the Miscarriage and Infertility thread...I'd kind of like it to stay out of the Pregnancy thread, because on bad days, well, to be perfectly blunt, some days the last thing I want to read is some of the things that are discussed there. Not that I'm not dancing and happy for everyone's announcements most of the time, but there are days where it might be a little difficult.
