When I was little some well-meaning relative gave me a copy of the "now I lay me down to sleep" prayer and it always frightened me lol. I like the pagan version Beliefnet has much better:

Now I lay me down to rest
Goddess guard my little nest
Like the wee bird in the tree
Lovely Goddess, care for me.

Above, below, and round about
Keep all evil spirits out
