Let me make you aware of something, please!
Internet and email petitions don't mean jack! And I mean that seriously! I'm a Pagan who's very politically active, and what means most to politicians and business is PAPER ~ as in, standing on the street, asking people to sign petitions.
This internet stuff isn't going to do it.
Use some elbow grease.

Mairwen is sooooooo right! Paper is the only thing they really recognize, and some of them prefer it "legibly" hand written, so they know a person did it.
I buy stamps and envelopes and use them, what a concept! ;)
Thanks Mairwen!

Quite right Mairwen and Bluecat.
The way I heard it put one time by a worker in a congressional office, is that electronic missives are worth one tenth of a mailed hard copy.
So, while an email is better than nothing, only a real letter will give your voice full value.
Also, it's best if each letter addresses only one topic/issue/bill. You should be to the point and one to two paragraphs are ideal. It is OK for letters to be longer if you have a relevant story or personal experience pertaining to the subject matter.
Bluecat pegged it on the 'hand-written' is best thing. For years I thought a nicely typewritten (and in later years, printed) hand signed letter was best. Then I found out that the handwritten ones were given preference.
