I went to the movies today. Guess what I saw???? The Harry Potter Movie Trailer!!! :boing:
My son was FREAKING!!! He can't wait for November. Right when it was done he looked at me "I HAVE to see that mom"
It looks good. A little scary...but I will admit. I didn't see the first one. yet. Apparently, my son is receivng the movie as a gift from his other Grandma, so I will see it soon. But "Chamber of Secrets" seemed a little more, i don't know, sinister. The little kid behind me was freaking out (she was like 3).
Just thought I'd share.

Actually the American publishers have been worried for quite some time. Scholastic actually believed at one point they might have to file for bankruptcy because they had banked so heavily on her next book which is going to be almost two years late.
According to her publicist, she hopes to have it finished sometime this fall and then it will be out (I hope!) late next spring. She's not had so much trouble writing the next book as she has just been plain busy. She got married and got preoccupied in the business end of her endeavors.
And I doubt Hagrid will die in the next book either.

My son and I just watched the trailer here. Thanks for the link. :) I keep telling him, we have to finish the book before I will take him to the movie. We are halfway through book two, and I want to keep reading it and not wait for him ha ha! We loved the first book/movie and really can't wait to see the second.

well, the trailer is sinister becuase the next book IS sinister. the books get a little more sinister as they get later. *shrug* the trailer looked pretty exact to me (Except for them almost getting run over by the train -_- that never happened).
i can't wait to see it tho! looks very very good.
a main character is supposed to die in the fifth book, although we don't know who.

Oh Man!!!!!!! I'm SO excited now!!!! I loved the first one, and surprisingly, so did my husband. So much so, that we rented the DVD too, and watched it a couple of times in one night (by the way, if you haven't rented the DVD..do! It's got all sorts of cool extra features, even more if you have a DVD player on your computer too!). So I can't wait for this one to come out!
I'm not sure what order the books go in, but I read Goblet of Fire, and Hagrid was still alive in that one. He might have dissappeared, though, at one point (trying to remember). But that one was pretty scary too.
I can't wait to see the battle between Harry and Malfoy.
By the way..what a voice change in Harry, eh? lol.

The order of the books is as follows:
The Sorcerors Stone (Philosopher in the UK)
The Chamber of Secrets
The Prisoner of Azkaban
The Goblet of Fire
and the next is supposedly to be titled The Order of the Phoenix
I absolutly LOVE these books, one might say I am mildly obsessed lol... I am even in an online community about it. So much fun to escape from muggle life now and then ;) Personally I didn't like the first movie the first time I watched it. This was probably partly due to the fact that I watched it in German (was an exchange student in Germany at the time) but also because it skips or changes a lot of the real events in the books (which is why I recommend reading the books before seeing the movies) But then when I watched it again, I knew it didn't go along with the book like I wanted so I just tried not to think of the book while watching and then I liked it. Except for the end, I will never like the end.. too many things changed! Oh well.. I'm still looking forward to the next movie (and getting a dvd player so I can see some cut scenes!! :)) And what about harry's voice? Is it deeper in the next trailer? I haven't watched it yet.
