I am new to this site and have a question that I don't know where to go for some insight. I am hoping that you can help or at least point me in the right direction. I have lived in a house for a year and about a month ago, I had a friend do a tarot reading for me at my house. That night, I woke up in the middle of the night with the lights in the living room on and the door wide open. It scared me (big time) but I let it pass as I thought that maybe my daughter might have slept walked and open the door and turned on the light without knowing it. Then last night (my daughter is out of town) and I woke up in the middle of the night again and her bedroom light was on. I don't know what's going on but I have lived there a year and nothing has happened in the past until I had my friend do a tarot reading for me at my house. Could this just be coincidence? and if so, what is the explanation for the lights coming on??? The only other explanation is that the cat's have learned how to turn lights on :-) Thanks for any help or direction you can provide.

Maybe you're the one who is sleepwalking. It's something to consider. I don't see how a tarot card reading could cause any physical manifestations even while you were sleeping.
Maybe you could try some sort of cleansing ritual to banish any negative energy that might be hanging around.

My HoneyGirl had an old cat, Andrew (rest in peace, ol' buddy) who taught himself to jump up & turn on the light switch... she had another cat, Corporal Dan, that I swear could walk through walls; you'd put him out, & a few minutes later he'd be back in the house... :ahhhh:
I'd do a thorough 'cleansing' of the house: smudge, incense, salt, etc...

I agree about the cleansing but I would say not to rule out the fact that it might be you. My family told me I did it for years and I never believed them . . . until one night in college I woke up in the back yard naked :) I just never saw any proof of it myself until then.

Hi again, jparen, I'm glad you posted
I get the impression you're asking because you don't know much about paganism, magic, spirits, and so on. Maybe you think by someone doing a tarot reading they let a bad spirit in or something? When we read with tarot we usually feel as though we are using the cards to find answers that our in our higher selves or that come from our gods, guides that have access to the answers, and so on.
The tarot differ from, say, ouija boards, in that they aren't used to talk to spirits really. We don't use them to talk to ghosts. So, if someone had used a ouija board and this happened I might wonder if it was a ghost that had stayed around, but that wouldn't happen with tarot cards.
There's a small possibility that it's a ghost or a fairy or something but I agree with the others that it's more likely that you might be sleepwalking or it's the cats! It's very likely that this is just something mundane rather then anything extraordinary!
