Hi! It's Pit Bull Love from Facebook. I thought I'd say hello and tell you guys a bit about myself. :)

Well, I'm a homeschooling mum of two kids. Daemon {he's eleven} and Raven {she's four}. I do pit bull rescue so there's always a plethora of dogs coming and going. I've also fostered rats and plan to do more small animals as the kids just love it. I have three of my own dogs { I had five but lost two of my geezer girls this year. :'(} I also have a cat who runs the show with the dogs! lol I'm an ex body piercer, for now anyway, as I quit working to stay home with the kids. My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis so we do a lot of hospital stays with her and a lot of fund raising for the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

So... a little about my personal journey with "alternative" belief systems. lol I was raised by my mum who had a great interest in learning about belief systems outside of how she was raised {Roman Catholic} and she had many books on everything from Scientology to Eastern religions and everything in between. She did astrology readings so we were brought up in a very open minded atmosphere. I was a total book worm as a kid and devoured all the books she had, even her university text books! lol I continued my studies by finding books on the "occult" at the library and read everything I could find on the subject from all schools of thought. This interest has continued throughout my life and I will always consider myself a "student of the universe". lol I chose not to attatch myself to one particular belief system as I find most of them have something that draws me in, at the same time having things that repells me from attatching myself to them. I find labels, for me, can become limiting and prevent growth, so I affectionately refer to myself as a Zoe-ist {my name being Zoe and all! lol} I look forward to learning much from this forum. :)

Thanx guys!

By the way how is Raven these days ?

She's doin' ok. She has a clinic visit and allergy testing on January 10th so hopefully that will all go well. She's eating up a storm so hopefully she'll have some good weight gain. I always start to worry when people ask me if she is two and she is almost five! I really don't think she's as small as that though. lol

Welcome to the site. :colorful: I was raised Roman Catholic like your mother, but obviously came here for a reason. That's great that you've been able to explore so many different religions.

I can also relate to the questions about your daughter. I was always tiny (even now, I'm only 4'11), so people always thought I was a lot younger. :)

Oh yeah, and cool username. For some reason, it makes me think of the anarchy cheerleaders in the Nirvana video "Smells Like Teen Spirit." :)

LOL No doubt! It's actually kind of a funny story how I got the nick name. I wore a kilt and pigtails to work and my boss said I looked like Satan's Cheerleader so I did this little cheerleader jump saying "Yaaaaaaaaaay Satan!" lol Of course he thought it was helarious, me so not being the cheerleader type, so all the regulars started calling me Satan's Cheerleader and it just stuck. Well, maybe it's not that funny. You probably had to be there! lol

Ya.... Raven will probably be pretty tiny. Her dad and I aren't very big and her major issues with Cystic Fibrosis has been her digestive system and growth. It's like waiting for your lottery numbers when they are weighing her just hoping she gained something! lol

I actually did ten years of catholic school as well. Although my mum was open minded, she was convinced that the catholic schools had better discipline. Some of those nuns were...... ummm..... good disciplinarians. :rotfl:
