Today marks the birth of our country....
please take the time to thank a Veteran for their courage and sacrifice.

4th of July has always been my second favorite holiday. I always dress in red, white, and blue to show that I love my country and those who share it with me.

Brightest Blessings everyone!

Enjoy the freedoms that we're guaranteed (even if we're having to fight those wanting to take them away).

I don't mean to be rude (as I too am from the US), but there are many people here who aren't.

Also did I miss why this was in M&R?

I posted this in Just Talk and I have no idea how it ended up here.

I thought I noticed a Happy Canada thread too... I didn't realize that by acknowledging my country I was, somehow, leaving out people from others. Is there another holiday from a different country that I'm supposed to be acknowledging?

Maybe one of the Magical mods can whisk this to Just Talk?

I think that perhaps not everyone would know what country Independence Day is celebrated. You didn't mention the country. It's really ok to acknowledge your country's holidays. :)

BTW, Happy Independence Day to all my American friends! Stay safe!

Yes that's what I meant :) You didn't specify which one "our country" was :)

And, as if by magic... it shall be returned... :D

Surely most people in the English-speaking world knows which nation celebrates Independence Day on July 4... especially after that cheesy movie... 8O

Happy Fifth of July, everyone!! :D:D:D

Not to start a flamewar, folks, but I don't think an American can be blamed for celebrating their country on the 4th of July. As was mentioned before, nearly anyone with English fluency realizes that America celebrates its independence on July 4, so the omission of "the United States" shouldn't be viewed as any great deal. Just let it slide for a day, folks...

Well, whatever country's day it was we sure had a great time. I got to see my favorite band in the world play, (have to say that since I'm married to the singer/guitar player ya know!!;) ) and we saw some pretty cool fireworks. We got to spend some time with two great MW'ers, Freyja and Flar7. It was just an overall great time and that is the best thing about living in a free country...the USA that is!

Happy 4th..

Mithrea, yes there are alot of members who arent from the US,
We celebrated Canada day on the first here ..

we have folks from all over , and Im sure everyone would love to know when your national holiday is so we can all celebrate it with you. :)

Here where i live , in NJ, we useually have fireworks in Atlantic city.. they usually have a barge out in the ocean and they shoot off the fireworks... but they didnt do it this year, not because of the terror threat but because last year the barge caught fire and set off all the fireworks, they were shooting off in every direction...

It was a sight to see, everyone thought it was part of the show untill they saw the rescue crews rushing to rescue the fireworks people....

so i am sure the New york fireworks show on cbs got alot of viewership :)
