Your Favorite Fruit?

Being a total fruit fanatic, I was just wondering what everyone's favorite fruit was, and why?

It was hard for me to choose, but I'd have to say mine's the plum. Plum's are so great, I've always loved them. And what's great about a plum is that the skin and the flesh have two different tastes: one sweet, ad one sour... so when you bite into the whole thing, it's like an explosion of taste! :D

So everyone, what's your favorite fruit? (And yes, a tomato counts! ;) lol)

While I like all fruit pretty much and am really fond of many of them, (especially Grapefruit) I would still have to say it's a draw between bananas becase they are so versatile and blueberries because I looooove blueberries :)

Hmmm...That's a tough question.. I love blackberries, strawberries and peaches. My grandma used to have a blackberry bush in her yard and whenever we were over there, we (okay....I) would always eat the berries. As well, she would take us strawberry picking. :mmm: I loooooooove strawberries right off the plant.

stawberries, peaches, Raspberries, Oh can't forget Cherries!! I also love apricots and plums. And not to mention blueberries and grapefruits.... oh and green grapes!
I think that peaches would be my #1 fav... but its so hard to pick one.

I love nectarines, mangos, papayas, oranges, watermelons, cherries, bananas, and all berries! Argh! I can't decide which one I like best! I would eat fruit over most things...except chocolate. :)

Cherries. Hands down. I go crazy buying them in the summer here when all the people from the Okanagan come down to sell them.
Coming in at a close second is mangos and limes.

I'll have to say peaches, strawberries and raspberries. I'd say all berries, but I really don't like fresh blueberries.. they're a bit on the sour side for me.. same goes for things like plums. I like oranges, but for some reason I can't chew up that membrane that keeps the sections apart... but then again... when I eat grapes I have to take the peel out of my mouth after each one, hehe.
Any fruit that's sweet but not tart usually gets my attention :)

i love grapes (especially these black ones called muscats), peaches, apples, mandarines, plums, mangos, rockmelon, cantelopes, kiwifruit, berries, loquats, mangos, tomatos.......... the list goes on and on!

Hehe! I didn't realize how hard this would be! I was just eating a plum and it stared back at me and said "come on, you *know* I'm your favorite"... so I decided to ask a simple question... but the simple question has such a hard answer! Eek! :eek:

Well, this is one of the toughest questions that has been put to me lately. Black rasberries, peaches, mango, plums, figs, dates, grapes, blueberries, strawberries. watermelon, cantelope, honeydew melon, wow I'm getting really hungry now so I'll stop here :nyah:

We have a goverment run lunch program for lower income parents and the president at the time decided that catsup was a vegitable so that they could claim to have a serving of vegitables any time catsup was used in a meal so that they covered the nutritional guidlines.

Mango: amazing with double cream.
Custard apple: also very sweet (it's the favourite of Sita Devi, the wife of Lord Rama)
Chiku: very sweet as well, unusual taste unlike anything else I've eaten (and is Krishna's favourite)

What a yummy topic. My mouth is watering already. I guess my favorites would have to be honey-dew melon, red grapes, and raspberries. My kitchen is decorated all in apples, more for the magickal symbology than being my favorite fruit. I do love apples... sliced with peanut butter. :mmm:

Kiwi! I can't get enough of them. If they weren't such a pain to peel, I'd eat alot more of them!
There is also a fruit I just had during a visit to Guatemala. I don't know the name (and probably couldn't spell it even if I remembered) but I'm pretty sure it's related to the kiwi. It's fushia colored and has tiny little black seeds like a kiwi except the seeds are all through the meat of the fruit. It's a little sweeter than the kiwi too. Yummy!!

I love almost all fruits. My favorites have to be berries--raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, etc. I just made a delicious blackberrry cobbler from wild blackberries we picked.

Melons run a close 2nd to berries for me. Tomatoes are another favorite. I don't care how silly the US government is--they are a fruit. My son, who graduated college this year with an education degree in math and science, was talking about how stupid that decision was. Tomatoes have always been his favorite fruit.

I love fruit!! Especially strawberry (unfortunatly the season for good strawberries are so short...), peach, grapefruit, oranges and other citrus fruits, kiwis, grapes (those small green ones from Cyprus, yummy!), apples, pears (anjou in particular), banana, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, melon (all kinds)... Sadly I'm allergic to a lot of the fruit i love...which is strange because most arn't in the same catagory, or I can eat some things in thoses catagories.
I love melons....can't eat any kind though. (no watermelon :wah: )
I love Oranges- can only eat them sometimes but Lemons or grapfruits or other citrus I can eat just fine.
I can only eat apples covered in something ie: chocolate or carmel on top.
Pears are fine though
I also love Peaches, berries (any kind), plums And kiwi which I have no throuble eating.

Yummy! I love fruits. I think that my favorite in the summer are berries. I like all kinds- strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries...etc. Since I don't get berries all year round, I would have to say that granny smith apples are my favorite. Besides tasting good, apples are special. In myth, they are associated with wisdom and youth.

Watermelon!

I had my co-worker stop at a roadside stand the last week so that I could buy a treat for the guys we serve, a locally grown watermelon. It was expensive, but as we sat out in the garage on a 102 degree day enjoying it, I was thinking that this is one of the Mother's greatest gifts! So wonderfully appropriate for a hot day!

Anyone got any ideas for this heavenly delight other than injecting it with some 180 proof?

dont know about america but i have never found them in australia, even in the suburbs with heaps of people from that area living they r ... different it took me a while to get used to them

Grapes are 98 cents a pound right now and I brought about 5 pounds home for Flar. I also got some red pears, I've never tried them before.

I still love pineapple and berries. Since it has been so hot out lately, I usually purchase frozen fruit. Then, i thaw it out so it is still really cold- but not too cold. Finally, I put vanilla yogurt on top.

When I was in Thailand, I had some yummy fruits. I really like this fruit called jackfruit. It tastes like a cross between a melon and a pineapple. Also, I tried lychees which are a sweet chewy fruit with a big seed in the middle. The lychee looks a bit weird since they are rather small, spiky, red fruits.

being a vegetarian all my life, fruits are the main food in my diet (although i am a great cook, i probably cook 4 times for the year). i love them all, especially the tropical fruits. i was born in the caribbean so i was exposed to a variety of fresh, organic fruits from birth. it's difficult to select a favorite. has anyone tried a fruit call sapodilla? i could never get enough of that particular fruit. those are sooooo good. also mangoes, i eat at least three per day.

Nectarines, those big, juicy, yellow meat ones from California. Just when they start to give when you push your finger into them :thumbsup: . I like to eat off the peel first and then the rest, but you have to save one big juicy bite for the last. The last bite should be the best one.

Strawberries are good too, and Blackberries.
I like to mix peaches, strawberries, and bananas together with just a little sugar. OMG. :drool:
