Just thought I'd ask about this subject, though its really trying to clear something up.

A friend told me that he is having a magical 'block' where he lives in Stirling, does anyone know of any reason why he shouldn't be able to cast circles or do similar magic in this area?

Much obliged.

My apologies, just realised that this should be in magick and ritual. Could someone please relocate this post.

Thankyou :D

Did something really bad happen there in the past or in your friends past at that location?

Stirling, Scotland? I've been there a couple of times & I didn't remember hearing anything about occult occurances there. I checked the books I have about the place (those travel-touristy ones) & can find nothing...not even about witches being punished in some way. Nothing in the Encyclopedia of Witchcraft & Demonology, either. But Stirling (like much of Scotland) has quite a violent history, so maybe he's picking up on those vibes.

Is it all the sudden?

Well, I was born in Stirling, and grew up 10 miles from there, and it is believed that there are a lot of ley lines in that area.

Have you heard of the Falkirk circle? (a 20 mile radius from the nearby town of Falkirk where there were the most lottery winners per head of population anywhere in the UK)
Or the Bonnybridge triangle? (UFO's seem to be drawn to that area for some reason - I myself have seen one from my bedroom window when I lived in Larbert)

Just a possible theory, but as soon as I moved to Dundee, things started happening for me..
...Though that's more likely due to the fact I was living with mum at the time. :-)

Well, as always he is a little vague :/ But...he has been a student there for around a year now. He is the kind of person who will mention it in passing, then go all enigmatic. Ah well.

Thanks for all the replies, and no I hadn't heard of the Falkirk circle or the Bonnybridge triangle. He DID mention stuff about ley lines however. This information will hopefully help me converse with him more over the matter, without his usual displays of arrogance.

Heh, it's probably a personal thing anyway. The real arrogance lay in the assumption that, just because he has a problem, everyone else must have it as well.
