OK... I get a tad bit of stage freight just a bit before the show, especailly when others are freaking out... so my roomie told me about this stuff you can take that ONLY calms your anxiety.
It begins with a K.... anyways, so shes gonna get me that...
but I am finding after the first few dances, under the hot lights that my energy is getting completely drained.
I would like to take something for it, but i don't want it to interfere with the anxiety stuff... oh, and it really can't have caffine in it..

any help i really appreciated! :)

I've been using Rescue Remedy for a few years with good results - but I put about 5 drops under my tongue and hold them there until I have to swallow. You can also put it in your water. I've also used it on pets. I gave it to a badly beaten up stray cat who'd been in a fight and she was 100% better the next day. I was using it this weekend and Flar's cat decided that she wanted to try some. She liked it and came running every time she saw me go for my purse!

You should be able to find it in most health food stores. I'm not sure if I've seen it at GNC, if they have those in your area.

Vibration is an online magazine that has great info on flower essences:

Freyja is right, you will diffinately have to shop around,

the vitamin shop sells it in a 1 ounce bottle for $11

it sells for around $15 in other sites that was the cheapest I could find it.

I've gotten it on sale at the health food store for $8. I think that health food stores would be your best bet unless you find an online source with no shipping charges. Around $10-$11 is the regular price in my area.

Thanks for reminding me about that stuff. I had used it for my cat who gets freaked out and pees on my carpet. He was getting better, so I stopped using it. But he has been really bad again lately. I am going to try it again. I had completely forgeooten about using it.

Good luck with your shows shnen!!

I don't expect a complete scientific answer, but can anyone here tell me how Rescue Remedy works? I've just heard about it recently (in the past couple of months or so) and it sounds interesting. Also, does anyone know if it has any drug interactions?

Thanks, all!

here is some info I found that may help

Dr. Bach created an emergency combination of Essences which he called Rescue Remedy. It is a combination of 5 Flower Essences (Star of Bethlehem, Clematis, Impatiens, Cherry Plum and Rock Rose) to be used in emergency situations, such as experiencing an accident, trauma, in a stressful situation, before an exam or public speech, locally on bruises, sprains, on the skin of baggy tired eyes. Many people keep a bottle in their purse, diaper bag, nursery and in the car. On occasions when your mind is over-active, take a dose or two of Rescue Remedy in the evening before going to sleep.

Many health-care professionals, veterinarians and lay persons have reported Rescue Remedy to have a stabilizing and calming effect in a great variety of stress-inducing situations. They say it has brought comfort and calm to those who have experienced troubling news, severe upset and traumatic experiences which often lead to a numbed and dazed state of mind. It is also helpful in less severe instances such as arguments, examinations, stage-fright, visits to the dentist.

All I found out is that you can't take an upper with it, cuz its somewhat like a downer... but not in a bad way. My roommate rides Equestrian and they give it to the horses, as well as take it themself before a show if they seem nervous, anxious.

In Canada it costs $30 at helath food stores and was very hard to find here in Toronto.

It says on the bottle 'helping you cope with lifes ups and downs.'

And it tastes and smells, like alcohol ~ whew!

Oh, and the fastest way to get it in your system...
Put a few drops in your palm, and with your finger dip it in the liquid and rub it on your gums... :)

 $30!!!!!!

Carrie and Joy visit us for psychic fairs and carry Rescue Remedy along with other flower essences. Their prices are reasonable. I don't know how much they'd charge for shipping to Canada but the charge is minimal when I order from them:

Some stores buy the Bach Remedies in bulk & dilute them & put their own labels on them. You can tell if they've been diluted by the dosages recommended. It's mostly to make them more affordable. But you might as well get the original & dilute them yourself.

You can also tell by the sensation you get if you take it straight. Undiluted Rescue Remedy should burn or sting a bit when you put it under your tongue.

I believe it works by getting into your blood stream. It is just plant/flower extract. Has the same effect as certain medications, just more natural. When I was looking into flower essences as an alternative to medication, thats what was explained to me.
