View Full Version : Weekly Divination - No not NOW

We have probably ALL felt that sentence and maybe even said it, when doing divination.

whether it be for us, a family member or a client ...

So what do you DO with the interruption?

Does it matter that much in truth?

Or does it depend on if it is the cat, the dog, a small child, a spouse, phone call, the power goes out.....

obviously the list is endless!

Ooooh yes this happens to me sometimes...

Usually I either try a different but related question, rethinking the wording and such.
or I just leave it alone for a few hours, days or weeks before reading again.

When reading for others it's complicated, they want to know about their love life NOW! and the reading just isn't happening, your cards go missing, the power goes out or anything else that could go on.... sometimes I suggest they ask someone else for the reading, other times I'll just do it as soon as possible and appologize for the delays.

Yep be there done this. My husband is the worst culprit for this. He needs are immediate, and IHHO urgent. I know that Hope has had the pleasure of dealing with some of my his interruptions.

Generally if I can push the interruption away quickly, it generally doesn't become a problem. On the other hand, if it isn't easily pushed away, then I rarely can get back to it. I will become upset if it isn't easily dealt with, therefore, divination is difficult to get back to. My concentration is broken, and I have some problems bringing my mind back to the task at hand. I will generally do something to ground and center, then try again later.

laughs I knew this would be a topic we can all relate too

for me personally, i have had ONLY interruptions, since the move

hmm well in total honesty since October 13th when Robert came here

and it has taken its toll on me some, I am using a lot more walls (you may call them shields) with clear signs on them that say GO AWAY

I make sure and do cord cutting before I start, and I work more on grounding.

I will say though for me it depends, like my cat loves energy work of any kind, and I never consider his interruptions as such, instead more like a friend come to help

hmmm ok not to make this all about me or a book - but honestly I think the only thing that really bothers me or gets in my way is the energy of people that know better, in my space

not so much because they effect the results, but more that I get annoyed and that is something I need to work on

(note to self change the weekly divination title to - thanks for helping with hope's therapy LOL)

Honestly, I'm pretty good at ignorning my kids... but sometimes they break through if they are trying to kill each other, or if the hubby is being particularly pestersome.

First, I ignore them and keep typing, trying to make it obvious that I am in the middle of something and don't need to be interrupted. If they persist, then I say, "Just a sec". If that STILL doesn't work, I just tell everyone to shut the f up and leave me alone... I'm BUSY over here! :D

giggles, i use the eyebrows up, look down the nose, annoyed look

they have all learned a silent hope is not a happy hope lol

and if I am not even willing to snap at you, it is time to just back out of the room

Oh, GAWD, not THE LOOK!!!

:hehehehe:

I have done readings in some strange, chaotic, noisy settings... constant, day-long drumming; children whizzing around yelling & bumping the table; a thunderstorm about to blow down the tent; belly dancers parading around the room...

The only real problems I ever had was when the clients became too distracted to pay attention to the reading...

OK, OK, & watching the belly dancers...

Impersonating Elise on the phone reserving the table for the next fair, in the best Elise voice I can muster.....no loccation for foot traffic is not important, can you just make sure we are the furthest table from the belly dancers--preferably facing the other direction, I would not want my darling husband distracted.....:rotfl::vanish:

Normally, I find it easy to concentrate~ put myself in an environment that offers little to no distractions, right? of course.. but then the phone rings. and i know who it is. i know they'll call twice, and i know i'll have to listen to them bit..:shhhh:..wine... if i dont pick up the phone the first time. and disconnecting the phone wouldnt do any good either because then everything that has the ability to bring in calls or other messages goes off... So, that's a minor distraction sometimes...

and the only time i get to that point when im reading for people is when they get distracted, or if they have their child with them.. so the reading gets done most of the time, but if for some reason we have to stop, i take note and give them a run through inbetween punishing their child and drinking a latte.

now should i be doing something for myself and we have a 'no' moment.. i take it that i should wait until later for the answer and not be so rushy... my pendullum is consistantly tsking at me when she knows i want to ask a certain question and i wouldnt be suprised if my cards decided to go blank to give me the hint.. so i've let the issue rest and dedicated myself to patience.. haha

i do love it when the power goes out though, candle light is better

yeah, I think part of the distractions, at festival and such, is you know the whole weekend will be like that lol, and it matters you less... at least me

and you ground a lot, and get tired -- BUT take the energy back from the festival

i like the points you make, when THEY are distracted instead of you

and the sign for you to not do you right then lol

I do the same thing, in fact recently I went to read and pull my cards from a "treasure chest" my grandfather made for me, it has a simple lock on it (to keep the monkey out lol) and I had the key, and it would NOT work!

and I tried a couple of times, and said ok fine, i get it!
laughs

next morning, the house was quiet, and everyone out except me (was not planned, just a small blessing) and hello the key worked PERFECT

and we all know I got better me and reading time in

inbetween punishing their child and drinking a latte. This is my whole life, right here in this fragment of a sentence. :rotfl:

haha clever locks :) i'll definitly think twice before putting my tools in a safe should they one day just feel like being uncooperative *laughs*
yesterday i was going to do a reading for myself, as i took the cards out my father knocked on my door~ when i was free again, shuffling the cards this time, my brother called- and third time's a charm, right? my dad again haha i took that one as a big "Hey!! not today, miss." so today, im left home alone (much like your story) but have forgotten my question.. haha either that, or figured it out in my sleep *snore*

btw, i love the treasure chest thing. very envy worthy and i now must find something nifty to hide things in (bigger than my secrets box for other tinkers and bits) *chuckles*

Ahem, missy...I do NOT sound like that. I just tell 'em to keep the bellydancers in the other room!

Actually, no, I enjoy looking at 'em too...and dancing along, usually in my seat or at least in my space.

Before Rick and I were together and I was just doing mainly healing... I'd put on music to heal to...and always ended up doing hip rolls and stuff in place while doing the Reiki...used to get quite a few comments from the guys. LOL :hehehehe:
