Hello to everyone who reades my post, this is my first post, and I am hoping to find some help.
I would like to decorate my husband and I's room in a simple open fashion, with lots of space, and natural materials.
What I am looking for are different herbs either used by thier smell, or by being eaten (no illegal herbs please), that will cause sexual arrousal.
We want our room to be romantic in every sense possible, and would like to incorporate such herbs as indoor plants.
Eg. I've heard that the scent from orange blossoms is arrousing, as well as lavender.
Someone has recently told me that cucumbers with black licorice. Also, cloves...
I'd appreciate any info. on this subject.
Sincerely,
Georgia

 Welcome, Georgia  have a seat in one of Kaylara's comfy couch/chair thingies and have a glass of lemonade.
I am not sure of what kind of herb or plant you would need to complete the effect, but you might check in the "Green Room." Their you will most likely to come into contact with folks who are most familiar with herbs.
Stick around here and other places too and you will find us a wonderful community, we are supportive of each other as well as just a fun bunch of really diverse folks. The discussions can range from boring to wild.

Actually, I do remember a post about herbal aphrodisiacs in the Green Room.. ..I think, as far as scents are concerned, ylang ylang is the best aphrodisiac. but alot is based on personal preference.
blessed be!

I've had excellent results with Damiana.
Just a word of caution, make very sure that both persons are in very good health, since any time you start tampering with herbs to gain that type of reaction (or any major alteration from normal), you could inadvertently cause serious damage.
I used it as a tea and it only took one cup of it. And it does work well on both men and women.

All kidding aside though......
Welcome to our home and porch and the never ending supply of "comfy chair thing's" and non-stop lemonade!!!
Great big happy family this is becoming and everyone here is absolutley wonderful. :D
On the adding to mood.....
My friend swears by Ylang, Ylang.
I haven't used it (yet) but she told me to drop 1 drop into the candle i was burning.
HTH.

If you're looking for a plant, jasmine would be a great choice. The scent from the flowers are quite strong. Lavender is very relaxing...but some people find that lavender puts them to sleep...kinda defeats the purpose here. ;)
What about a difussor? The kind that uses a tealight candle with a bowl for water. You can add whatever types of essential oils you like. You can try any one of these or combinations of Neroli, Jasmine, patchouli, sandalwood, ylang ylang, rose.
Here's a blend I love...
12 drops neroli essential oil
12 drops sandalwood
8 drops jasmine
4 drops rose
4 drop benzoin resin
3 drops vetivert
3 drops ginger
1 drop patchouli
You could also do a dish of potpourrie of jasmine blossoms, orange blossoms & sandalwood or whatever combination you like. You can also add a few drops of essential oil to enhance the scent. If you add to the mixture a little bit of orris root powder, it would make the scent last longer.

Try some yohimbe...It can create overly-aggressive tendencies in men, though, because it simulates testosterone.

:sunny: Merry meet and welcome! :sunny:
How about Pink roses? They are very romantic and a bit of color magic to boot. I've seen alot about Damiana but ingesting it, not the smell. I've yet to try it. Maybe for Beltain! :D

First of all, Merry Meet and have a refill on that lemonade! :sunny:
Even though it is not a true aphrodisiac, pomigranites have long been considered a sensual food of love. They have always helped put me in the mood. *blush*
Anyways, I will ask my Dad if he knows of anything. He knows all sorts of tricks with plants and I'm sure this would be on his list of things that he considers to be good to have on hand.
Blessed Be!

this works wonders for me. I go in cycles. I am into sex really hot for like 3 months, then I won't care for like 2...so for those times when I am a little harder to interest, I use a spray of lavendar water with ylang-ylang. It so relaxing and puts me in the mood...
I spray it on my pillows-cases when ever I change the sheets....
The SO says it works wonders!

there are lots of them, but the best responses i have had ( i used to test them while cocktail waitressing) was the rose resin, very potent though, just a dab will do ya! oh, yeah... Merry Meet! i hope that u find this community as conforting and enjoyable as i am!

I would suggest checking up on Yohimbe before using. The jury's out as to how safe this herb is. This is definitely NOT something you want to just pick up at the herb store & use on your own. In some, it may even cause impotence. Best to check with a qualified herbalist or doctor before using Yohimbe.

Ok, my dad has cast his vote. He recomends a book called Rituals for the Bath, by Kathy Corey. He says that in it are recipes for natural massage oils and other goodies, and a listing of what each of the ingredients has been used for, where to buy them and what to look for. It's no longer in print, but you can get it at Amazon.com. I hope that helps.

plenty of good suggestions, particularly the bath and massage book but there is another field too, music, i've several tapes i like that create "that mood" "scarborough fair" is one of them, (well it is a spellsong for a love potion after all i've been told) "dream suite" in my wife's belly dance tapes, "nights in white satin" all in instrumental versions and played just at the level of perception as a background that does not intrude on the mood it helps create. the old classic "as time goes by" is another good one for this mood. and guys, we have to do our part too, she can get awful tired of those old jockey shorts, treat yourself to a set of goodlooking pajamas for "special occasions" and a fresh shower and shave just before the fun is due to start (but don't overdo the aftershave and take the time to remember the one she said she really liked and use it). most of the effect of "aphrodasiacs" is mental to begin with, how else did frederik's of hollywood get rich selling naughty little bits of lace and fluff. have fun.
