I found this site and wondered if anyone here is/was a member and what their thoughts on the courses offered are.
It looks like you get a broad overview of different subjects, such as herbology, numerology, etc. Also, I've never heard of the Correllian Tradition.
Thanks,
FaeRain

I took the whole class for the First Degree part. I passed it and was offered to be initiated. I didn't take it, but I highly recommend the classes. Covers a lot of bases for the basic stuff.

Well, I checked out the free course on witchscool.com and the first lesson which is available for everyone seemed ok to me.
The only thing I think is a little strange, is why they examen you on the people that make up the leaders of the correllian wicca !?!?! Do they bother ??

Thanks for the links Myst. I think that since the basic part is free, and all I'm looking for is to immerse my thick little head in literature + learning, I will give it a go. Sounds like the courses were interesting enough.
If only I could have attended Hogwarts instead!

Uhm, I think I'll pass. I would drive them all nuts with my crazy questions and answers that are impossible to understand.
:(
Maybe in future time, when my school (brr) trauma has gone away..
:(
And besides, I still got mysticwicks, right? Don't need no s-s-school.

I haven;t taken them. I feel a bit wary about the fact that you have to give out you real name and address to get the lessons. I prefer to remain anoymous online. I was thinking about using a fake name and address, get into the lessons, copy them into Word, then not go back...8O. I haven't tried that yet though...

Funny you should post this so recently, FaeRain! :T
I just came across the Witchschool.com site again after having looked at it a few times in the past. I'm thinking I might sign up for the basic course and try it out. If I like it, I just might keep going! :D
If I do decide to try it out, I'll post my experiences here. Thanks for bringing up this topic again! :)

Hi there. I am currently enrolled in the first degree course. Hey, it was free. :) One thing I do like about it is that it is giving me a bit of focus and progression of study. For over the last year and a half I have been reading and practicing my own brand of religion/spirituality. And ended up a bit confused at times. I am not Wiccan, nor to intend to become Wiccan, Corellian or otherwise. However, I think the course is giving me a bit of foundation to further explore on my own. I don't plan on getting initiateded either. I don't think that would be fair on my part. There have been some discrepancies in what they say and how I feel about things, so I use them as leaping points to figure out more of what I do believe and how I want to express my spirituality.
I would go for it, try it out and see how you feel about the first few lessons and then go from there. Just keep an open mind and remember that this is just their way of doing things.
The other courses seem interesting, for $10 I might pay to try them out after I am done with the 1st degree.

Hey Wyrdsister....we could be classmates! I haven't been in school for so many years, I think it would be fun. Not like when you actually HAD to go!

Correllian Tradition was not always called that, but its original name was Correllian Nativist Wicca, which was founded by Orpheis Caroline High-Correll in 1479 Pisces (1879 AD). A woman of Scotts-Cherokee ancestry Orpheis Caroline is claimed by some members of the High-Correll Family to have been a Scottish Traditional Witch. She was also a practising psychic, spiritual healer, and herbalist, who spent many years with travelling with her husband, John Correll. In creating Correllian Nativist Wicca, Orpheis Caroline drew upon her Native American heritage, as well as ideas of European Witchcraft, Spiritualism, and Hermetic thought. The early history of the Correllian Tradition is somewhat unclear, with familial and religious structures wholly interconnected. The family followed a very formal, matriachal and matrilinear structure with its roots in Cherokee custom, from which the current offices of the Correllian Tradition derive their form

As far as I know, the 13 lessons of the First Degree are free. The rest isn't.
And I'm glad about that too!!! Because I feel a bit bad making use of their lessons and giving nothing in return..:(
it's unfair

I also joined witchschool.com for their Correllian Witchcraft course. I find it very interesting and I appreciate their kindness in giving the information freely, for until I visited the site I'd never heard of the Correllian tradition. My mentor also has a group of their own, and all of the members are highly supportive and friendly.
I like it so far, I might actually continue studying past my first degree. =D

I joined their basic classes after seeing this posting. I think the classes are decent and everyone I have talked to through their connections are all nice and ready to help with any questions. I recommend it.

I would love to start but I am busy with school right now. I am thinking during my next break which starts September 18 (and ends October 11)

My little brother posted that last reply after I had looked at it and left my account online. I have already taken the course and I am a first degree correlian priest. My little brother just started it and is liking it. I do recommend anyways, but I'd just like to clear that up.

I joined the witchschool after reading these posts... I like it! The intro to the classes does touch on the leading members of the trad but my mentor explained that the trad is family based... and if you were to proceed with the classes all the way to the end you would become a member of the family... in a way.
Im now on the second set of lessons... and its about magick and the energy that surrounds us. You can only take a test to finish a section every 7 days... as they dont want you to rush through it. They have a course on the Quabaulla(sp?) and the tarot that is free to anyone now... I looked at it ... its very detailed... too much so for this tarot newbie...
You can sign up for a mentor... that is someone who has done the first degree course... as well as taken the mentoring class. My mentor is cool... she set up a yahoo group and has a web site for her students... she is yet another resource.
Im enjoying it...
