My monitor is almost doing the funky chicken....the
screen is yellow-green, and everything is hard to
read...and it will depart this world soon.:(
I don't know how long it will take until we get another
monitor.
Hope to be back sooner than later. :D

Take care & Goddess Bless. :sunny:

You might have a transistor burned out, if possible you could buy a used monitor or have yours repaired.

Hello. Sorry to hear you are having troubles with the monitor.
If I had an extra one, I would gladly bring it out to you.

However, there is a really good place to get monitors used locally.(i think it's in Richmond, but I'll have to check)
It is called Monitor King. I will look it up for you and try to post or PM.

Back in a sec.

I sent you a pm with the info and addresses and phone numbers. I had them recommended to me recently by a friend. He says that they offer excellent service and warranties and they actually back them up.

I am looking to buy a bigger monitor, but don't want to spend "oodles of noodles" for it. :)

If I hear of someone getting rid of one, I will let ya know asap. Actually, hang onto that thought. I may very well know of someone who is getting rid of one and was just going to toss it. I will call them and see what they decided to do with it.

I'll keep you posted.......

Until then......................

Thank you for all of your replies. :)
I just got a new monitor donated by the First United
Church, so I am back.:D
However, I still have a yellow-green foreground, but
not as bad on this monitor, so it appears that the
problem is with the computer.
Happy To Be Back! :sunny: :heartthro

make sure the monitor data cable is pluged in securly...if it slipped out, it can make the monitor look off coloured and funky!

It's in securely. I think that Kevin didn't program
Windows 98 properly...but I can't have him back
in my house.
I don't think he's had a shower since who flung the
chunk! :sick::eek:
I still can't get his odor out of my chair!

*cough *cough

I know that this probably wasn't supposed to be funny....(the comment about Kevin)

But when I read it....
I choked and laughed and coughed and sputtered and even did a double take. My! you have the greatest ways of putting things sometimes!

Too funny.

Yes and don't let it get out!

Sounds to me like it's one of two probable causes.

First,if you have the same monitor cable it could be a loose pin or intermitant wire connection. Switch the cable and see if that fixes it.

If that's not it[say, the cord is hard wired in the monitor] in all probability it is a bad solder joint on the board connector. If you know someone that is VERY,VERY good at soldering electronics, get the solder joints on the motherboard monitor connector touched up. This will remedy the problem most of the time. If that doesn't do it, the connector needs replaced.

WARNING! They better damn sure know what they are doing because if they make a solder "bridge" in the wrong place you can kiss your computer goodbye!!

Good luck

I will try another monitor cable.

My nephew was in Quebec City for the FTAA protest.
I haven't heard from him, and I hope that he is all
right. :(
