And no I don't mean anyone from the TV show. ;) I was wondering if anyone on here actually investigates hauntings or any other paranormal activity on their spare time? Just curious as I'd love to know how many other Pagans are involved in the field since so many more of them are open to the paranormal.
I run a paranormal group locally here in Charlotte myself.

I'm usually the one they call when they hear or see something. I'm pretty good at picking up on things. I don't do it professionally. I only offer my services to friends or family.

I used to, once upon a time. I'd like to get back into it eventually.

I am also the one who gets called for information or help on paranormal activity, I do not do it professionally. I would like to tag along the pros some time that will be an experience.
I do sense activity myself, some say that I am more sensitive then the normal person.

I used to do lots of this when I was younger....but haven't done much in the last, ohhhhhhh, 12 years or so. I'd like to get back into it more. I'm not professional by any means though...I just enjoy it and while I am quite sensitive, I tend to enjoy the more technical aspects of it. My husband has done quite a bit of it, as he is a clairvoyant/medium. As a matter of fact, we were just discussing this very thing the other night! About how we miss doing this sort of work and would like to get back into it on a more regualar basis.

I'm part of KAPPA (Kansai Association of Paranormal Analysis) Yeah. But we've just lost a member so we haven't done any investigation for the past few months.
We take it on a very scientific level. It's fun! I love it anyway!

I want to be.
I've helped a few people out here and there, but nothing professionally and nothing as systematic as I'd like to.
Have been really wanting to do it from a VERY young age though. First thing I ever really wanted to be was a Parapsychologist. Try explaining that one to your elementary teachers.

Once I'm stronger in terms of dealing with my own sensitivity, I might give the whole ghost hunting business a shot. I've dealt with cases of paranormal activity before and those experiences were pretty cool, so I'm interested in actually doing this systematically and with a good scientific back-up later on.

Ain't that the truth!!!!!! LOL! Now try telling that to an elementary teacher 35 to 40 years ago!:rotfl:
Shoot...try telling that to your parents or friends during that time frame! Most of my friends had to go look it up and then the bulk of them labled me "weird" and quit being my friends.....some stayed though and I knew they were true friends. As for my parents...the "evil step-father" laughed and told me I was stupid and my mother told me that I always was her "odd child". Great. *sigh* Oh well.
I began saying I wanted to be a Parapsychologist as soon as I was able to read Hans Holzer books (around age 6 or 7..The book was "Ghost Hunter" written in 1963)...I tried to say it before that too, I just didn't know the word for what I wanted to do and be. His books gave me the proper word. Right about the same time I read Sybil Leek's book and knew that what I (and truly my whole family)..and that the things and ways my family did things.....was a witch....we were all witches. Funny how one thing leads to another......

I'm also usually the one friends call on when they hear or see something, but I don't/won't do it professionally. I agree a tag along with someone else would be great!

Have done many investigations in the past. Not done it for sometime now, but the most interesting, and one I still have a lot of material on, including EVP recordings, was a derelict mental hospital dating from 1896. Experienced a lot of frightening things there, actually, as well as a joint sighting of an apparition.

That sounds very interesting, it's something I'd like to get into, although, I think, personally, a ghost in a mental hospital, especially of a patient, I'm not sure why, but, that would frighten me the most.

I am actively involved in a group. Have run into some interesting things. I am an energy magnet. Got a friend who says I don't find them <ghosts>. They find me.
She may be correct.
