Do you think a psychic can be multi-talented or do you think for the most part they have one specific gift that is magnified?

I think they can be multi talented... Infact I know they can be multi talented.
I believe psychics have the ability to hone abilities that they have and to learn or pick up others.. but they may only have 1 area they are " BEST" at or more of " feel comfortable " using.
But that is only my opinion.

Psychics (myself included) can definately be multi-talented.
It just takes time and effort.

It depends on how much time and effort one is willing to devote to it. I've seen lots of folks who are "jack of all trades but master of none." Which is fine if you don't want to choose just one thing to really focus on, it's kinda fun being able to do lots of things and it doesn't get so boring. But you won't get as much respect that way.

Multi-talented. After all, if I am talented in origami, hair color, tarot reading, spell casting, computer/video games, and writing then why couldn't someone be a multi-talented psychic? If it's because they all fall under the same theme as opposed to my aforementioned talents then would not a multi-talented psychic be more plausible since they are keeping their focus confined to one scope instead of spreading it out?
Furthermore, I have many psychic abilities and talents, although I do not refer to myself as a psychic. Even if I wasn't, I would still consider it to be very much plausible.

Oh interesting, I myself am tuning into my powers more. I'm still so-so on tarot, I think my best ability so far is empathy, and I know I could do mediumship or talking to spirits or ghosts if I wasn't so afraid of them :(

PrincessKLS,
spirits and ghosts generally are not something to fear.. As long as you know where to draw the line if you do not have a "Guide" all is well.
It ( like any other ability) is not something to enter into without help or knowledge.

All new paranormal stuff is kinda spooky and crazy when you first experience it, but it quickly becomes something normal or at least manageable as time progresses. It took me some years to figure out a way to deal with all of it, but I'm comfortable where I am now.
With that being said... yes, I believe psychics can be multi-talented. I think there may be one or two things they do best, however, but I think that the knowledge and experience they get through working in the field makes them something like a "jack of all trades". Psychics who do this kind of thing for a living also need to be pretty good at working with people, apart from having their own paranormal gifts to deal with...

I think psychics can be multi-talented, afterall, like Aidron's example, you can be multi-talented in other areas too (e.g. you can be great at art, writing, hair styling, etc), so why wouldn't it be the same for psychic powers?.
Although I do think it takes work to develop your powers, unless you're somewhat of an adapt in them or was born with the abilities.
I'm working on developing my psychic powers too (one of the books I want to get in that regard is 'How to Test and Develop your ESP' by Paul Huson (http://www.amazon.com/How-Test-Develop-Your-ESP/dp/1568331835/sr=8-1/qid=1171310283/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-5668732-8368004?ie=UTF8&s=books), which sounds quite cool (also, you can read a bit more about it and his other books on his site (http://paulhuson.com/)).
There's also a cool course called 'Witchcraft From the Ground Up' (http://web.archive.org/web/19960101000000-20051231235959/http://www.whywiccanssuck.com/learn0.html)which is very helpful too.
Anyway, sorry for getting OT towards the end.

David,
Everyone goes OT sometimes, but the important thing, I think is that you are making references to things to HELP others in such areas. And I thank you for that. Because I know I will be making use of at least the Book you mentioned by Paul Huson.
I know I personally am all for personal growth in its various forms be it spiritual, psychic or physical.

Well it's been almost 10 years since I've saw a couple of things around house of paranormal nature, I do live across from a cemetary. And I can still sense spirits and it's been long rumored that I have a haunted house, it's actually 100 years old and my mom inherited from her mom and it was said for a long time my grandparents haunted our house.
One of sister even said at 3 I saw them but I don' t recall that.
Still to this day I can sense "alot of activity" in my room.
Funny my sister and our aunt who for almost 2 years shared a house say that it's haunted by a ghost but I haven't really sensed it when I stay over there.

I think psychic abilities are subject to aptitudes, so yes. It seems (I believe) that some are in-born with certain acumen towards certain abilities or a multitude.

Greetings,
I'm not a self taught psychic, I was born with my abilities. The abilities grow and change as you grow and change. Example when I was young I was lucky with numbers. As I got older that went dormant and I started have visions in dreams. As I grew older I become clairvoyant and clairaudient.
Your abilities are like energy. You know how somedays you feel full of life and other days you just want to stay in bed and sleep. Your ability levels change by things that affect you in life. Some days your abilities will be high other days they'll be sleeping sound.
If your a self taught psychic, you can enhance your abilities with the more time you work with them just as a born Seer (I prefer calling myself) can awaken an ability by focusing on it.
There will be one form that will stand out but you will have others because your abilities develope and grow as you do.

Definantly Multi, so many abilities, are similar that growth in one can effect others...
for example, Empathy can sometimes give way to Telepathy...
and even channeling energy and working with energy in a ritual sense can help with abilities, like channeling an entity (active channeling, mediumship)

Certainly. I've met many Psychics who are multi-talented, though often they have one particular gift that they focus on more than the rest. This doesn't mean they're not multi-talented though.

I believe they can be multi-talented as I am one of them.. many gifts usually involve other gifts and are related. But sometimes I focuse on one more than I focus on the rest, that's all. Personal choice. I don't like preaching or letting everyone know my secrets, hehe.

How about this perception of the question: how much "ordinary" people actually suppress everything they percieve?
Everyone has all clear perception of everything, and all that perception is filtered by conditionning and emotional cloggs. We are all involved in a single universal stream of consciousness. When you percieve, you percieve. The question now, is rather "how can i stop not-percieving clearly?" instead of "how can i develop a single psychic ability?".
Let me give you an example of what I mean. A student was asking me how i could percieve a police car on the high-way, 3 miles ahead, behind a mountain. I asked him
- What do you keep in mind regarding police patrols on the highway?
- I don’t want to see any when i'm on the road, he answered.
- There you go, I continued. This is the reason why you don’t see them; you keep saying to yourself that you don’t want to see them.
A correct perception will rectify this situation. The police patrols are there for our safety. If you keep seeing punishment as a parental way to say “I’m angry at you”, then you will keep being afraid to receive a ticket if you drive too fast. You first have to correct your relationship to exterior authority, and see corrective actions done to you in the past, as ways for authority to say “I want what is best for you”.
Then, each time you cross a police patrol, say “Thank you” in your mind, for them. Thank them for the security they bring to your society. Be appreciative also of firemen and ambulances. Gratitude towards symbols of authority will generate a good feeling inside you. When on the road, if you ever start to feel this gladness for other people who protect you, then you will know that somewhere ahead, there is a police patrol. Of course, for this, you also have to expand your range of awareness, but it is much easier than you think. If you are curious at how you can expand your range of awareness, there is a book ESP and Supernatural Abilities ISBN 978-0-9809415-5-5, that provides this type of approach, evolving yourself to clear perception.

multi-talented...but i think that there is one talent that over shines the others, for what ever reason...like some have said before me, it takes time to hone your skills/talents and, because there are so many of them, it may take a lifetime...
