Last night I found a lump on my dog's leg the size of a marble. I already have an appt with the vet but it is not until this afternoon. I have no idea what it could be. It is hard but doesn't seem to be bothering her.
My dog is just a small step down from my kids on the Chris Scale of Worry. She is my baby (even though she is 7. And a canine. :))
Any good thoughts would also be appreciated.

Thanks for the good thoughts. The vet thinks it is just a cyst, but it has to be removed. So my puppy is scheduled for surgery Aug 1st. He said after it is removed, he will biopsy it make sure there are no cancer cells.
Here's a picture of her, cuz she is so darn cute. :D My son covered her with his special blanket while she was asleep one day.

He's adorable!
I'm glad it wasn't a tumor. My cat just got diagnosed with a brain tumor, she was having seizures because of it, but we got medication for that. Fortunately she isn't in any pain and we might be able to prolong her life a little. Of course, she's 18, it's to be expected she would have to go sooner or later :\.
Ooops, didn't mean to get off-topic!

you should have nothing to worry about chrissi. A lump that small is easy to remove and less time they are in surgery.
I've help remove much larger ones and the Dog has been fine. Plus 7 isnt that old in a dog. Keep us posted.
I will kep Him and your family in my thoughts.

cherrywind, I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I hope the time you have spent with her is the best. I am glad that she is not in any pain.
Rubi and OW, thanks for your good thoughts too. The vet said it felt "encapsulated" and I believe that to be a good thing. ;) So I feel much calmer now. The only bad thing is that my dog is on clomacalm too. We need to wean her off of it before the surgery or it could make the anesthesia too strong for her. As my hubby said, better to have another hole inthe sofa than a problem with her. We call out sofa Frankensofa because I have sewed it so many times cuz she keeps eating it. She gets a little loopy when we are away. A rescue dog, if you couldn't tell. LOL
I had to resist buying her more treats last night tho! :D

I'm a little late getting in on this, but I just wanted to contribute.... My dog, who's 13, had what my mom thought might be tumors on her belly....but the vet said that they were just hard fat deposits....weird, hey?
You're dog's a cutie, by the way.... what type is she? Looks a lot like my Max, who's half rottie.
