Konnichi Wa to All:

Here is a URL that I found on a Tarot Website that points out a website that offers a Free Course on how to read the Runes.

I am posting it now, but I will leave off studying the course until about Samhain. I want to spend the time from now to next Samhain studying and practising Tarot Card Reading before switching to another subject.

The Rune Course Website is located at:

after reading it more and more i got less intrigued.

a lot of people use the one "gift" that they may have or receive and attempt to go too far with it. i think this may be one of them...he attempts to explain deities and their energies from runes.

since he tries to add much much more to runes then them being focal points, i'm afraid i won't follow him in this endeavor.

all in all though he does seem to do a good job to try and explain runes.

I would be remiss in my everlasting battle with crackpotism if I didn't advise against this course. Armanen runes have their place in the grand scheme of things, but not so much outside of German High Ceremonial Magic.

Meanwhile, there's a lot of really good information right here on MW: http://mysticwicks.com/showthread.php?t=10509

I'm going to agree with Rick on this one. While the Armanen runes have been useful to me in the past for healing using the hondstodur I found in Rune Might, I haven't really found much use outside of Ceremonial Magic for them that can't be done (to greater affect mind you) with the Elder Futhark. Besides, I use hondstodur with the Elder Futhark now anyway and I find them to be much more effective, so the Armanen runes are pretty much a thing of the past.

For divination, I would definitely recommend sticking with the Elder Futhark. And stay away from any of those blank rune sets. Just my 2 cents.

Oh by that is a site I have not seen in a good many years and I will just leave it at that.

And stay away from any of those blank rune sets. Just my 2 cents. but but the blank ones always come in handy if you need a replacement piece :hehehehe:

 I'm with the "stay away from the blank runes" crowd.... I don't need an oracle of any sort to tell me that answer is unkown...

OK... I just took another look at that site (I was actually using it as a bad example of what not to look for in a course on runes)... I just noticed that this is the radionics guy...

KiNoRonin (and any others that may be considering using this site)...

Rune radionics guy? That's awesome! Nothing like paying 4 thousand dollars for my RAD RU 6 rune radionics device so I can harness the power of the universe! :geez:

Yep... send me two grand, & I'll run to Radio Shack & build ya one (OK... it might not be exactly a "RAD RU 6 rune radionics device", but it'll do exactly the same thing... :hehehehe: )... heck, I'll even throw in S & H...
