I read it all the way through. I think now I don't want to know what's in the "hamburgers" I sometimes let my kids get at McDonald's.

That;s what vegie dogs and vegie sausage are for, lol. And even vegie chix nuggets if ya want those!

Unfortunately, yes; I do know what's in hot dogs and sausages. Some knowledge is necessary but painful. :-)

Ew! EW!!!
Even if it wasn't true - and I suspect it is - I'd never eat them again!

Ew!

It's grosser even than non-kosher hot dogs!!!

ah, come on...if ya think about it long enough the mass production and slaughtering of all animals to make our dinner is disgusting. The process of the nuggets is no more disgusting than the slaughter of cows..read up on that sometime if you want to hear a sick tale. However, I will probably continue to eat the foods I have grown accustomed to and try not to think about the production.

yep. when I first read about the chicken head in the McDonalds
chicken Nuggets I thought, "that lucky sucker!" then I went out
and got some to eat!

Being raised on a farm has its advantages. It just dont bother me.
They are for eating, and I eats em! If ya dont wants to, dont. More
for me and mine! heheheh. I would say however that cow slaughter houses
are the worse, and chicken farms are the scariest!! I mean it aint
natural to grow a full grown chicken in a month and a half or less.

There was a woman a few weeks ago who bought some chicken pieces from a frozen-food shop, and it had the chicken's head in the packet.
She was in the papers because she only got £25 compensation

Also, a guy I worked with had to serve a writ to someone who made the 'leg' that goes on a spit for Donner kebabs. The guy took half a cow "hoofs and all" and tipped it in a blender, then the resulting mush is what you eat. Funnily enough, I haven't touched the things since...

And talking of Ick food, you DO NOT want to know what's in Haggis (although I'd much prefer eating it that than processed food where you don't know what bit of the animal is in there)

Enjoy your dinner folks!:D

uhg. . . I made the mistake of reading that whilst eating a turkey sandwich. . . . now I don't feel so good. . . >.<

Well. . . I guess we found out where the nugget is on the chicken!!!

Fortunately for myself, I'm not a big meat eater of any description, but when I do eat meat it is generally the 'whole' kind. Up until now I did that out of preference for taste, but this has given me a whole new angle on it! Ugh. Lucky for me the entire concept of a chicken nugget never even appealed in the first place. *shudders

I cant believe that isnt already common knowledge. Its not the ingredients that disgust me...its the fact that we pay outrageous prices for merely processed chicken skin.

As for the nuggets themselves, I stand by my original opinion: :mmm:

And if they just threw the skin away someone would be screaming about waste. I say Use what you can. I will still eat them I eat hot dogs and I know what they are made from (use to live near a meat processing plant.)
Does anyone else know what the filler is in a Mc Donalds hamburger ????? (Hint : its not soy)
If you liked it befor something like this shouldnt freek you out. Just because you now know what they are made of doesnt change the flavor. It a mental thing. You were fine with it before you knew you will be fine now...

Some things I'd rather NOT know -- like what's in bologna, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and especially head cheese...

Augh! Head cheese! The following is a true story.

Many years ago, I was a Franciscan nun, back when nuns wore habits. You know, those hideous black ployester doubleknit long-sleeved dresses, "sensible" (read: ugly) black shoes, and abbreviated veils. Well, if you live in a fairly Catholic neck of the woods, people look to you for advice, for comfort, and always to be a good sport. So there I am in the supermarket chatting with the lady at the deli counter as she's slicing bologna, and I point to this alien-like creation and ask: "What's that?" Brightly she says, "Oh, it's head cheese! Here -- have a piece." and proceeds to slice it and hand it to me in one of those little squares of waxed paper. And I HAD TO EAT IT. And smile. And thank her. She was so happy that she could introduce "the Sister" to something she liked.

That was all of 19 years ago. Tothis day I can't look at the stuff.

Food: the torture instrument of the times.

Some people complain about waste and how 'the natives used all parts of the animal', some complain when some of the less 'savoury' parts are used... I don't know, I guess ya can't win :)

*smiles and leans easily back in her chair* Thank the gods I'm a vegetarian. I still think veggie chik nuggets taste better than the real thing. Also, there's not that awful chunky, stringy stuff that you can find in the real chicken nugget. Plus, veggie nuggets are less fat and better for you, period. :D

All right, I'm done.

dont agree with the better for you part. That depends on the
individual and the nugget! hehehhe
