You know what, I've noticed that we have a whole lotta non-pagans here. A large number of Catholics. That's a good thing though. It means we are diverse and appeal to more than just our own. It's good that we can communicate with others.
Question, what is it about Catholicism? Most of the Catholics I know are unhappy, and my mother used to be a Catholic and converted. Why do you suppose that is? Not to generalize.....but.....I see it happen more with Catholics then with Protestants. Or am I mistaken?
Correct me if need be.

I think any religion where you are forced to go against who you are to be "saved" is going to cause some very personal issues. Now I know some Christians that are very happy with their faith and that's fine. It just means they are on the path they need to be on. But there are so many that are unhappy and only are in that faith because of the guilt and brainwashing. They believe they have to be or they are eternally damned... etc... If they are unhappy it may also be because of something in their life other than religion. Just because you are unhappy doesn't automatically mean your religion is at fault unless your religion is the most consuming thing in your life.

Just because a person is unhappy doesn't mean it's connected to their religion. It could be anything, family, life, money, love (or lack of it). There are many reasons to be happy or unhappy and it many not have anything to do with your religion or beliefs. I know Pagans who are very much at peace with their beliefs, but they are still unhappy because of some other factors.

I'm not always happy, but it's not because of my beliefs, they sustain me.

LaDays made several very good points that I think need no real help. I just wanted to say what I felt.

Okay, I'm sorry, i worded that wrong. When i said unhappy. I meant unhappy with their religions.
But, I totally agree with you guys. I know people of all faiths that are both happy and unhappy, due to outside factors.

I believe LaDaya addressed the point about being unhappy with their religion too and so did I.
