I currently own the Sacred Circle Tarot, and the cards really speak to me. I have been studying and practicing for almost two years now, but still I have trouble reading the cards. I have taken notes on top of notes. I have let the cards "speak" to me and still I am wrong. Does anyone have any pointers maybe something I am doing or not doing that could help. Thanks guys.

there are many great discussions here,
try "Tarot Journeys" by Yasmine Galenorn
ISBN 1-56718-264-x
it takes you on a journey into yourself through the cards.. it has a cdrom that has guided meditaions which are very beautiful and it is a really great book!

Joining in the discussions here have helped me more than anything. There are also some really good threads "STUCK" at the top of this Forum.
In our discussions of the Tarot right now, we are on the Hierophant but you can dig up the discussions for cards 1-5 by using the search function :)
Again, Welcome to Mysticwicks and the Tarot Forum :D

First and foremost, welcome Charmed :).
Have you ever tried another deck? Sometimes the cards can be attractive for you but they still don't work in the divination aspect.

Do you keep a tarot journal? I often suggest to people to do a daily reading and keep the readings in a journal to help get you familiar with what each card represents to you personally. However, like has already been suggested, if the imagery of your deck isn't working I'd suggest checking out some other decks. You can see a great collection here:

Merry meet and welcome Charmed.
I too have the Sacred Circle deck, and find it very beautiful and engaging but I dont really like to use it for readings as I find the picutres take me somewhere else and away from the reading ~ does that make sense?.. I use the Secret Tarot for most of my readings, it the first deck I bought and I so love and connect with it..
I think that only thing I can add to everyones great advice, is to just let yourself go and try not to think about what is right or wrong, just go with whatever comes into your minds eye and belive in that.
I find that my tarot cards change in what they are telling me depending on each reading, whether its for me or someone else, so maybe this is what is happening with you and you just have to be open to what they are telling you for that reading. What may come up in one reading with the same set of card will not come up in another...

You say you 'let the cards speak to you and you are wrong' -- ?? What do you mean by that? Could you elabopate?
There are no 'wrong' answers in tarot - only misunderstood ones. If you mean that you are still 'bookbound' and what the books tell you does not come true...you need different books!

I have to agree too. I tend to argue with the books so I usually don't use them at all. Except with those d*&% court cards! But more often than not, I am right about the card and the book is wrong. LOL!
I also do a daily one card reading and keeping a journal on them has helped me tremendously.
Good luck!

:blushake: Court cards don't like me much either (or maybe it's the other way around)... I'm always having to look up what they mean.
