...heck is an avatar? and where do you get them?

avatars are the little pictures you see under the member's name
on the left. You choose them in your profile. under options
I think. There is a large selection, or you can import one. Instructions
are in your profile options. Edit profile and see, you may like it!
also, if you use a custom avatar and cant get it to show, make
sure it is the right size, and that the last thing you do before
clicking edit my profile or whatever button it is, is to recheck the
"use custom avatar" box. otherwise it wont show. please
pm any mod or admin who is onine if you have a problem.

Yeah, when I imported my avatar it took me an HOUR of going back and forth, attaching the file only to not have it show up, to the point of wanting to pull my hair out! I finally went to the 'problems' room and saw someone had else had also not clued into this and someone (mol, I think) had provided this valuable little tidbit. :p
