Hello everyone!

I just moved from my apartment into a house, and I have a few questions.

Are there any good rituals for cleansing a house of old negative energies/beings? I don't know for sure that there are any, but it never hurts to be sure. Someone suggested smudging, but I'm not real clear on what this is or how to do it.

Also, I'd like to find out if there are any ghosts or such around. Are there ways to find out?

It's been discussed before as well, if you use the search function at the top of the page there should be lots of threads.

I think it's very important to throw out your old broom and buy a new one.

I'm not very big on smudging because smoke bothers me in an enclosed space, but I put salt across all the openings and seal the doors with ward-stones and protective oil (I use StJohn's Wort) after ritual sweeping.

Flicking salt water is also a choice, and putting quartz crystals in the corners.

Inviting in positive energies and beings, too.

Some like to bless/cleanse/smudge/etc the property as well as the house..just a thought....

Heres an idea. Mix sugar, salt, and dragons blood powder. Place it in a small bottle. Seal the bottle with red wax and keep it in the kitchento maintain peace in the home and between family memebers.

Some people use Florida water for cleansing. That might be good to incorporate in whatever you do.
